Here we are 10 days before signing day and Southern Miss head coach Todd Monken resigned to become the offensive coordinator of Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That is a hard hit for that school, especially considering that he didn't have to announce that today.
That of course, brings me to the subject I have mixed feelings about.
Does a coach, especially the head coach, stay there through signing day, basically deceiving the kids who sign Southern Miss or make the announcement now, basically screwing the team that gave him a head coaching job?
At this point, it's all but a given that Florida's new assistant coach is coming from a cpllege team, but won't be announced until after signing day - basically the deceiving the kids who are signing with that school with the intention of him being their position coach.
I know the kids are supposed to pick a school based on the school and not coaches, but let's be honest, coaches build relationships and sell themselves as much as they do the school.
