Gators not the only SEC program with transfers !

Bulldog safety Otis Reese has decided to leave Kirby Smart’s program.

A former four-star recruit, Reese (6-foot-3, 210) was expected to make an impact at safety, but mainly saw action behind Richard LeCounte and J.R. Reed.

Reese joins running back Prather Hudson, wide receiver Willie Erdman and linebacker Robert Beal as Bulldogs currently in the transfer portal.

Hudson, Erdman and and Beal each traveled with Georgia to the Sugar Bowl against Baylor.

It’s really a luxury to be able to lose that many stars and still be so awesome and not win a national title.
UGA is a great program but their alum and fans are psycho. They haven't won anything in 30+ years and are talking about recruiting titles lol...pathetic but hilarious!

Wonder if they can spell ARKANSAS ?

This all begs the question. Exactly WHO on the staff did Kirby put in charge once the Sugar bowl was over with and Kirby went on his 2 week vacation, because whoever the hell it is is burning the program down. Kirby will be lucky if he has 22 players left on the team by the time he gets back to the office at this rate.

Coley? I'm looking at you buddy.

Cue Gator Fever to brush over that and bemoan Mullen's recruiting.

Mullens first 2 classes were not up to par for winning the SEC. Last year's class ranking was artificially bolstered by a bunch of guys who couldn't make it to camp prior to the season. This year is good finally if we don't lose 35% of the blue chippers again prior to camp like the 2019 class

First two? You really gonna sit up here and count a transition class he had one month to recruit? He’s had one full class at UF, it will be two after this year. That just shows your agenda. The funny part is even that transition class was the best in UF history and was 60% blue chip and has already produced multiple starters. As to last years class...start comparing to everybody else and their attrition. Or you too lazy to do that?

I know we got hammered last year with 4 that didn't make it/stay for various reasons so this isn't surprising. Honestly, it should be a new matrix for recruiting strength.

The old recruiting rankings as of the Feb signing is quickly becoming less and less accurate moving forward.

Pretty silly take even for you.

Talk about having no context to your point.

Mullen is absolutely turning things around at UF...and he's doing it on every level; on the field play, winning, recruiting, expectations, transfers, player development etc...everyone in the country can see it and the buzz about the UF football program hasn't been this good in almost a decade.

Fever when it comes to recruiting we are winning battles...we're getting the players that we want. I couldn't be more happy with Mullen and what he's done at UF so far...freaking miracle IMO.

The 'quality recruiting ends in Aug fevered brain' goes by outsider stars and evals, instead of the 'on the field' coaching results.

2017 - 4-7 - with a total cluster team
2018 - 10-3 with a NY-6 Bowl win over #7 ranked Mich.
2019 - 11-2 with a NY-6 Bowl win over ACC runner-up Va.
(with 3 stars being NFL drafted, and 5 stars having to go free agent)

Maybe, just maybe, Dan the Man is a better judge of football talent than the 'outsiders' are,,, and that's why they pay him the Big Bucks... o_O

Fever keeps hanging out in that area...he's going deeper...now it's until we win a Natioal title he's going to remain skeptical. It took Sprurrier like 6-7 years to get one...even with how dominate he was it took a while.

lol one national title? Real coaches win 3 out of 4.

and even that happened, he'd point out that at a place like Florida, Mullen should have been able to produce those results sooner.

Sure some of the talent didn't actually make it on campus or what have you, but those class rankings also don't take into account grad transfers or what is now known as the transfer portal. Mullen has knocked it out of the park on using the transfer portal since he has been here. You could recruit 10 DE's over several classes and try to develop them over 4 years, and maybe get lucky on ONE of them to be equivalent to what Jon Greenard gave us here in 2019.

Stars and stats in recruiting don't count for everything unless you are Georgia and are going to award yourselves national titles in recruiting itself. Remember Will Hill, the #1 CB in the nation and one of our best 5* players ever right behind Percy Harvin as far as recruiting ranks go? He barely saw the field and never even panned out good enough to get into the NFL, but he sure did help Urban Meyer's recruiting stats that year.

What about ranking when the guys that didn't get in initially, come back later and play.
WR Dallas Baker and DB Reggie 'Freakin' Nelson come to mind....

This year or next, those kinds of players will be getting another chance at the Gator Brass Ring.... I certainly haven't written any of them off yet. o_O

Honestly i don't care too much. We are doing good right now. Recruiting rankings are a general guideline, and we are doing MUCH better by that metric than what ol butterteeth was doing here when he gutted the cupboard of talent. We develop our talent far better than anyone else in the East so I'm rather comfortable with the direction we are heading. Beat the stinky jorts from Athens just once, and watch how many more bluechip recruits take notice of the program. 2020 is really looking like the year to turn the corner on that front.

This is his first good class that can get you to SEC Championships down the road. The first 2 classes weren't good enough to do that and that is why we wont be winning any SEC Championship in 2020 and are likely to lose to the buttsniffers again in 2020 unless they get crap play from the QB position.

That 2nd class was a mirage top 10 class where 35% of the composite blue chippers didn't even make it to camp. I think 247 said the class would have been like 17th if the numbers were based on who actually made it to camp for all the teams.

Hopefully Mullen can keep improving the recruiting.

Mullen can impress me by winning his own division at least after 12 years. Heck Ole Butters did that his first 2 years here.

Fever...you do realize that before Mullen came back to UF...we've not been that great outside of the '12 season for almost 10 years right?

You'll never be impressed...it's almost like you have no perspective at all. Butters? Worst coach at the football program in the last 30 years. Jesus...are you smammered when you log in to post things?

Seriously this crap needs to stop and be put to rest. Especially bringing up the McElwain years and that he won something when you know better.

Lol our team this year would have whipped both those East winning McElwain teams. The east was a lot easier back then. Neither of this teams won 11 games nor had a good offense.

And still, you ignore the portal for talent infusion, looking only at recruiting and then trying to tie success to it. At least, for once, look at the roster rather than the recruiting lists. I promise that the actual players on the team is a better measure of the talent than a three year old list of names.
