Behind the powerhouses of Purdue, Rutgers, Indiana, and Georgia Tech.
Also behind rivals Tennessee, UK, Mizzou, So Carolina, LSU, FSU, and of course Uga.
One notch above UCF, 4 spots ahead of Vandy.

There are multiple problems.

Seems systemic to me.

UGA was so clearly SIGNIFICANTLY better than us in coaching and defense.

Yikes! Hopefully we can wins some of those head to head recruiting battles with Vandy.

According to the 247Sports Team Talent Composite, Florida's roster is the 7th-best in all of college football, based on individual player recruiting ratings.

That is fairly astounding considering this: Dan hasn't signed a class ranked higher than No. 9 overall per the 247Sports composite during his tenure.

What am I missing between those two recruiting service claims???

==========

Pull the ugly 3 turn-overs 2:30 to end the 1st half, and the rest of the game was UGly 13 - 7 UF.

Guano Occurs.... But all of the Gator fans are happy because AR-15 got the start....

Is that test of the game 13-7 a moral victory thing? You know that’s not how it works, right?

Being media-moron ranked #1 during a season is not the same thing as having won a NC. You know that's not how it works, right? (41 years and counting...)

Its from having many highly ranked transfers. We needed the DTs but the two 5 star RBs are buried on the depth chart. I am thinking Shorter may have been a 5 star also.

His composite ranking is good because he does a good job with transfers, which is legit. But it is obviously shorter term and some of those star rankings are inflated but still count toward the composite ranking. For instance, do Shorter and Lingaard play like 5 stars?

Mullen said they don't recruit untill it's recruiting time(off season)...I posted his exact full quote on another thread. Kirby, on the other hand, suggested recruiting is year round.

Kirby's view on it is likely the same as a lot of those other teams you mentioned that are doing better than UF.

UF's bad recruiting isn't just limited to this year....its followed Dan....and soon 20-40th in recruiting will be the norm under him at UF.

I didn’t take what he said to mean they don’t recruit during the season. Sounded like he just said he’d talk recruiting when the season is over. But Kirby lives and breathes it 24/7.

Mullen doesn’t recruit well but that quote was taken way out of context and he maybe misspoke a bit. Of course Mullen and the staff recruit all year round. You really think they just recruit a few months out of the year? Of course not.

I don't think they are just sitting on their hands, but that it states the emphasis of recruiting. I don't base it just on quotes or press conferences....let's look at the action/results.

When you combine the words and the results it's fair to call it what it is.

Even before UF, people spoke negatively on Mullen on the recruiting trail.

I didn't mean it to be literally nothing is done, but that the attitude and effort is clearly different between programs doing well and UF. I just didn't feel like typing it all out.

It didn’t come out like he likely intended it too. Yes Mullen and his staff recruit year round. Everybody in college football recruits year round. Some are just better at it than others.

That's known, but it's probably a rarity to recruit this badly at UF, regardless of others being better at it. The expression is that a good product can sell itself. Well, UF isn't a good product at the moment, but it's name should still carry weight......much more than scrub programs that are doing better.

Something's wrong somewhere, but the bigger problem, for the fans, is the lack of confidence for it to be fixed even if the leak in the boat is located.

Mac may have been as bad at it but a surprising number of them became NFL picks.

I guess its worse than it looks looking at another article.. Georgia singned 27 top 50 recruits the past 4 years to only 4 for us. Bama has signed 24 of them. I always heard top 150 signees is a good indicator with the top teams talent - might look where we stand on that.

Look like UF just cancelled Dan's media access for the rest of week based on his recruiting comments. That can't be a good sign for his future.

Yikes.

Our Boosters need to up their payoffs.

What the hell are they doing?

I think that is an issue besides Mullen not being good at it. It's a side effect of your school becoming one that mostly only nerds can score high enough to get into now. We don't have the do what it takes big boosters like Bama and them do anymore. Our mega rich grads now are more likely to not care much about football. So I doubt we make up a ton of ground unless we can get some to step up with some NIL stuff.

Top 150 recruits which produces many of the top college players - the past 4 years:

Georgia 50 UF 19 - Smart is killing us in getting the top 4 stars also.

Smart may not have won the national championship yet but he might not be too far off with his statement that its 50% recruiting, 25% talent evaluation and 25% actual coaching. Georgia will have went 11-1 or better pre-SECCG the past 4 out of 5 years with what is probably an average game day coach.

Didn't Mullen get a wrist slap because of recruiting violations?

What was the punishment?

He was suspended for like a week or a little more this season from seeing recruits I think. The infraction was just seeing a recruit or two in a high school coach's office or something minor like that. I almost wish it was something bigger just to show he is actually trying hard.

OK. I couldnt recall what the punishment was.

HE seems to hate recruiting.

Maybe he is best being an OC in the NFL.

That is the encapsulation of what it means to be an UGly legghumpin, buttsniffin, nuttlicker in jawja...

We use words like honor, code, loyalty, We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something, you mutts use them as a punch line.

Your background, your upbringing, nor your skin color makes you what you are as you go through life. It's your choices....

What does a modern code of honor look like? Why do we even need one? For me personally, a code of honor is that extra layer of accountability in my personal and professional life. Even if there’s something else in your life—be it faith, law, or some other moral code—a personal code of honor is something you yourself design and take up for the sake of improving yourself, your life, and the lives of those around you.
