Mac has his worked cut out for him. We lose our best DL Bullard, LB Morrison and CB VH3 plus we don't have a serviceable QB until week 7. If Treon is our starter I may after 40 years switch to a USF fan. Seriously what do you do? Start a freshman, Del Rio or Harris?

Add in UT is getting better, LSU has the hat and the #1 recruiting class again and it could be a long year before week 7.

Then there is 2017. We start with Michigan and have FSU on our OOC schedule. Why we added UM is beyond me. We got A&M and LSU plus the usual East teams.

Could.be years before we are a CFP team.

Nah, these things can change quickly. Just need to get some help on offense and continue to bring in the great defensive recruits. Lots of teams turn it around in 1 year. Hell, we finished last season 6-5 and two of those wins were against 1aa schools. 10 wins this year is a fantastic feat.

Next year depends on who is QBing this team and who returns for their senior season. The defense is still loaded but it would be BIG if Jarad Davis and Neal return. Our dline and secondary is loaded. LBer is a bit of a concern but Anzalone needs to get healthy and Shannon can develop LBers. Bullard is a big loss but so was Fowler and we were fine on the dline. The Dline is loaded with talent and depth.

Can we get more out of the oline and find a competent QB? That's the biggest question marks.

Cocoa (Fla.) offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor committed to Florida on Sunday, just days after receiving an offer from the Gators. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Taylor was previously committed to Miami, but backed off that pledge late Saturday night. The Gators now have 25 prospect committed in the 2016 class.

1) plus we don't have a serviceable QB until week 7. 2) Could.be years before we are a CFP team.

1) Not true imoho, see roster QB's, and will include any in the 2016 class on NSD.

2) Could also be next year. Could-bee's are just that, opinion based/biased speculations.

Don't worry,,,, Be Happy... :D

PS

25 Commits, 6 are (or will be) Early Enrollees that can count back to 2015? (correct?)
If so, then 19 that are currently counting towards the 2016 class limit of 25?

The past month was just miserable to eat h the Gators. All my Gator friends say the same. We are lucky my to be 10-2.

Remember this.....Muschamp went 11-2 in year 2 ( got our ass kicked by Louisville and Bridgewater in the bowl game ) and barely beat a Div. 2 team on a blocked kick. Kinda won games like this year.

Hope Mac doesn't have a similar outcome

muschamp thought eveything was great after that season. McElwain has spoken up and says the team has many deficiencies. Two totally different approaches.

Does anyone know what it costs to field (equip, feed & train) a roster player?

Now, can someone explain to me why they are paying to have 8 QB's on the roster?
(since 7 of them will not be playing in the next 2 games) o_O
Just seems like a hellova lot of wasted time and money to me....

Apparently, none of the 5 that are currently available behind TH are good enough to even see the filed for a series, or even a play or two, so why are they wasting the season-long time and $$$ on them?

While this is NOT meant as a criticism of who they choose to play, it is still a serious question?

We only have 3 QBs on the roster that are on scholly (Grier, Harris and Grady). Grady wasn't really brought in as a QB either. That is how poorly Muschamp and staff recruited on the offensive side of the ball. Same goes for how poorly Champ recruited the oline.

All those QBs you have mentioned are walk-ons.

While that's true, it didn't answer the (cost) question that I asked.
A ship is only a part of the total cost of having a player on the roster.

And as far as the walk-on's go, so was Louis Oliver and Chris Doering.... o_O

2014 RB's:

Mack Brown Sr (Grad and gone)

Matt Jones Jr (2014 starter, early departure to NFL Redskins)

Mark Herndon Jr (ST's starter, backup RB)
Named the District 7 MVP and Offensive PoY during his HS senior season.
Overall, rushed for 1,600 yards on 165 carries for 19 TD's.
Aug 30, 2015 - Mark Herndon tore his ACL during a kickoff on Sat.

Darius Masline rsSo (a 2012 walkon, ship now??)
2014: Saw his first career action in the opener against E.Mich, 7 for 25 yds, 3.6 ypc.

Kelvin Taylor So (2015 starter)

Adam Lane rsFr (2015 xfer for playing time)

Brandon Powell Fr (switched to WR by coaches for 2015)
========

2015 Recruits:

Jordan Cronkrite
Jordan Scarlett
-------
Tynek Hopkins (walkon or ship??)
=============

Jones left early for NFL.
A.Lane xfer for playing time.
B.Powell change of position to WR.
UF still had 6 roster RB's for 2015.

And RB. Pretty sure Lane and Taylor were the only scholarship RB's, somebody tell me if I'm wrong. I remember us using that walk-on kid at RB in the spring.

But give him credit, he outsmarted everyone with Lane! Whats that Alex Collins kid done? Or that natural LB Henry?

And to think we fired this guy
