I was a chubby little nine year old full of excitement. My dad pulled some strings and knew what to say to the right man to get us some tickets in section 18. Boy, was it loud. Loudest moment I had ever experienced in my life at the time. The chants, the band, and the chomps. Cheering along and not realizing I was watching someone who would be recognized as one of the best college quarterbacks ever, playing for a coach many see as the greatest gator of all time. I saw two of my favorite players play in Lawrence Wright and Jevon Kearse. As a young man playing linebacker at the time it was awesome to see the hits and watch a great defense hold one of the best running backs in the SEC to 66 total yards while Fred Taylor and Elijah Williams combined for 222. All said and done Gators took the cats into the deep water and finished them off 56-13. October 12, 1996 a day ill always remember.
