You guys getting the Brew for TE?

Looks that way numbers. Sources have confirmed to Swamp247 and 247Sports that North Carolina TE's coach Tim Brewster is expected to head to Gainesville to join the Gators coaching staff. Brewster and Florida head coach Dan Mullen have a history together coaching as he worked with Brewster at Mississippi State from 2012-13 when Brewster coached wide receivers under Mullen for the Bulldogs.

Brewer, a highly respected coach and ace recruiter in the college ranks has also spend a few seasons in the NFL. Brewster has coached as an assistant at Purdue, UNC, Texas, Mississippi State, Florida State, and Texas A&M and served as the head coach at Minnesota from 2007 to 2010. He had two stops in the NFL working with the tight ends for the Broncos and Chargers after his time leading in Minnesota.

He was a really good recruiter for us. One of the best. Hes a good coach for TEs, not great or elite. Specialty is recruiting. I dont think he was deficient as a coach by any means.

If Tim Brewster accepts the call, he would be a good one ! Rodney Garner recruiter with out the money bags !

A former two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection at the University of Illinois, Brewster led the nation's tight ends in receiving in 1983 and captained Illinois to the 1984 Rose Bowl against UCLA.

"...Brewster has spent over 30 years in coaching. He was a collegiate head coach for four seasons, an NFL assistant coach for five seasons and an assistant coach at six different "Power 5" schools.

An accomplished recruiter, Brewster helped build the Seminoles' top-ranked 2016 recruiting class, which featured 18 four- or five-star rated players as well as 13 Under Armour All-Americans and four U.S. Army All-Americans. He helped the Seminoles' recruiting classes rank in the top 10 of ESPN's team rankings all five years he was on the FSU staff, including in the top five four times.

Brewster was named the ACC's Top Recruiter by ESPN, made 247Sports' Top 10 Recruiters list and was among Rivals' Top 25 Recruiters.

During his career, Brewster has produced 11 NFL tight ends.

He saw five tight ends sign NFL contracts during his first stint at UNC, including Alge Crumpler and Freddie Jones, and two each at Texas, Florida St. and Texas A&M.

He also discovered and developed one of the league’s all-time greats in Antonio Gates,

who played basketball at Kent St. prior to transitioning to a career in football, while Brewster was the tight ends coach for the San Diego Chargers. Brewster served as the tight ends coach for the Denver Broncos from 2005-06 after coaching that same position at North Carolina from 1989-97 and Texas from 1998-2001.

Many positives for Tim Brewster.

UNC ended up 16th (Rivals), 19th (247) in team recruiting ranking.

Played TE & led Big 10 (Big 12 whatever) in TE receiving.

Sent 11 TEs to NFL.

Obviously he is doing something extremely right !

Only negative, is that he moves around a great deal - 10 coaching stops & counting.

Only spent 1 year with UNC this time & only 1 year at Miss State with Mullen - 2012.

Compare & contrast his job movement with John Hevesy, Billy Gonzales, & Brian Johnson.

These Coaches have stuck with Mullen for a long time.

Feel free to call this next thought total BS -

but imagine Cornelius Ingram as an Analyst (Coach in Waiting) to Brewster for a year or 2, until Brewster moves on, again - perhaps as a HC after Gators win a title !

Best of both worlds. Analyst at UF bound to make more money than HC at Hawthorne High School. CI learns from the best & sticks around !

Dan isn’t playing around. Good to know he acknowledges weaknesses with recruiting with his current staff and is doing something about it to change it.

If Florida ever starts getting top 5 classes annually with Mullen and his ability to call a game, they will always be a huge threat national. In before “Derrrr Cousin Eddie, fart noise” from Dawg fans.

Our new recruiting tutor will not be cheap, but hopefully it will be money well spent !

Brewster earned approximately $400,000 last season, per the USA Today salary database, but was making nearly $500,000 the prior season with Texas A&M.
https://onlygators.com/02/06/2020/f...-tim-brewster-as-assistant-coach-per-reports/

We were told UNC gave him a raise in connection with Texas A&M’s interest in hiring him just a few weeks back. But Brewster is now heading to Gainesville.

The SEC had just under $660 million in revenue during its 2018 fiscal year, according to a federal tax return that the conference provided Friday.

That resulted in an average of $43.7 million being distributed to the 13 member schools that received full shares. Mississippi did not get a full share because of its football team was banned from postseason play.

So even with paying CI an analyst salary, Gator football can afford Brewster. LOL

Numbers,

Hopefully he doesn't use Rodney Garner's tricks !

Any idea why Brewster only stayed with Fisher at A&M for 1 year ?

He coached with mack brown before and loved it. He followed jimbo to a and m and then Mack got the job at UNC. His wife also LOVES North Carolina and they built their retirement home there. Surprised he took the UF job tbh.

Kirby piling up 5 stars, Dan building a brain trust, think tank, Churchill war room!

Smart is misnamed like Greenland, lol.....
All the 5* players in the world won't help Kirbs as they lose a star for every year they are under his mismanagement and lose skills/talent/athleticism. But hey, why am I bitter, as long as those checks keep cashing, the kids will still keep getting drawn in there like flies on a good ol' ripe pile of poop.

In other news my new M1A CQB arrived today!

numbers,

Thanks for the info !

Brewster is here to teach current UF staff how to recruit; doubt he will be at UF long, They will be back in North Carolina in a year or two.

His UF salary will have their house paid off quickly ! LOL

grommit,

Your new toy is Ba Ba Ba Bad to the Bone !

"...Nearly ten inches shorter than the M1A™ standard model, the CQB offers quick and easy handling for defensive use indoors or out. The authoritative .308 chambering with optional 20-round magazines won’t leave you wanting more fight-stopping effectiveness."

Hmmmm, I'm in the market for some home security.....perhaps that will do....haha

But I've been eyeing this more moderately priced, simpler piece....

Maybe he took a good look at UF's style of offense and the 2020 TE Roster, and just couldn't wait to get in on the fun... ;)

off topic I know, but the CQB is NOT home security. You may blow away an intruder in 1 shot, but you will be permanently deaf. Nothing ever wrong with a solid pump action 12 gauge. The sound of racking that first shell is enough to get most intruders to flee in 75% cases.

Best part about my CQB is the nice bright red label attached to it stating clearly, NOT LEGAL IN CALFORNIA

Worst part is the cost of ammo. 2,000 rounds cost more than the gun itself.

You selected a very pretty gun. Without doing any research on it, I think that would shine in the home defense role.
