GAINESVILLE, FL – The Florida Gators held on at the buzzer to knock off Wofford, 66-63, in the opening round of the 2023 Postseason WNIT.
Next up for Florida is a Round 2 game at Wake Forest, set for Monday, March 20 at 6 p.m. ET.
The Gators jumped out to a 22-10 lead after the first quarter, but the Terriers quickly came back in the second quarter to pull within one point heading into the halftime break. Wofford held a 45-28 rebound advantage in the game and outscored Florida 16-8 in second chance points, but it was points off turnovers that keyed Florida to victory, with a 20-9 advantage in the game.
Leilani Correa led the Gators with 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while Nina Rickards added 18 points and Kirsten Deans had 15.
