All I'm asking of you people is to vote for recreational pot and all the republicans.
Thanks in advance.

I used to be very much in favor of open weed laws. I don’t think it’s working out like I imagined it. Seems like the use of ALL drugs increased when jurisdictions put this in place. I think we may want to pump the brakes on it. I’m still for medical, but I’m increasingly skeptical of recreational effects on the publicAll I'm asking of you people is to vote for recreational pot and all the republicans.

How do you feel about the recreational effects of alcohol?I used to be very much in favor of open weed laws. I don’t think it’s working out like I imagined it. They are not great. However, it seems like the places that have gone to the pot have some real drug problems that seem to have come along with recreational. Maybe this is a transient issue, but I’m for slowing this thing down. How do you feel about the recreational effects of alcohol?
Maybe those places are soft on crime in general. They are not great. However, it seems like the places that have gone to the pot have some real drug problems that seem to have come along with recreational. Maybe this is a transient issue, but I’m for slowing this thing down.
I don't know how you can draw this correlation.I used to be very much in favor of open weed laws. I don’t think it’s working out like I imagined it. I think that you are right that a lot of comes back to places that are soft on crime anyway. I just want to slow down on recreational and watch what it does in other places. I used to have a strong libertarian streak that is rapidly dissipating. Now, I’m for outlawing fast food, banning social media for minors, and limiting peoples soda consumption. As I have gotten older, I question our cultures ability to handle these more libertarian type ideas. We are not mature enough to have expanded freedoms like this.Maybe those places are soft on crime in general.
I'm not saying pot doesn't cause any problems but it seems pretty benign compared to alcohol.
I agree. I used to be a hardcore legalization advocate and then I saw what happened in Portand, and personally walked through on of those areas near Pike's Place in Seattle. It was the most worried I'd ever been in public...not because addicts are bad people but because they are so unpredictable.I think that you are right that a lot of comes back to places that are soft on crime anyway. I agree with a lot of the stuff you are saying. I think most people probably can get pot if they wanted to. However, I think will have a “greasing the skids” effect on young men into a lifestyle of getting high, Layin on the couch, playin video games, eating pizza, watching porn, scrolling on the phone… I don’t think it’s good. I wanna take your cigs, chew, and cigars too.I agree. But pot is a freaking plant. And like I said, it's extremely easy to get for most people. I just can't say I've noticed any difference in places that legalize it. Hell we smelled more weed in ATL last time we were there than anywhere I've been in places like DC or Colorado.
It doesn't do the damage hard drugs, like alcohol, can.
edit: to be fair, alot of my opinions developed before drugs like Krokodil and Fentanyl came about...but still...heroin and crack can ruin a life quickly
Beto????I don’t think it’s good. I wanna take your cigs, chew, and cigars too.
Honestly I don't care either way personally, not currently a user. I believe THC does have medicinal value for certain ailments, so I'm fine with that. I don't think you should need a prescription either, that could land you on a list to prevent you from owning a firearm. I think you should be able to grow your own MJ, why should the state get to profit off of your own crop. Regulate the sale, but leave home brewers alone. All I'm asking of you people is to vote for recreational pot and all the republicans.

It's low because of participation.Honestly I don't care either way personally, not currently a user. I believe THC does have medicinal value for certain ailments, so I'm fine with that. What I am tired of however, is the ridiculously low bar it takes to get silly assed shit on the ballot. What is now? 500,000 signatures? Florida has nearly 20 million people. Raise the bar to 4 million. If something merits being on a ballot it shouldn't be hard to get it on there. The number of amendments now are just utterly ridiculous,
This particular amendment is a "grass roots" item for sure. They could have gotten 5 million sigs. You aren't a Florida resident. Ever hear about pregnant pig amendment and other silly shit? Amendments got greyhound racing banned as well. That feel good bullshit makes my skin break out in hives. It's low because of participation.
People don't vote, unless their dead or illegal immigrants voting for a democrat.
And 500k people is alot of people to contact. I'm surprised it's not 50k.
Weed, like alcohol is medicinal. Every drug known to man has a purpose, some just abuse it. It comes down to choice vs regulation.I'm 77 years old and have never used marijuana and see no use to start now. I suppose the folks posting here who do use it see no harm no foul. I dont know how it can be good for a person but to each their own.
A little pot makes most people feel better. Kind of like having a couple of beers. I know people who believe it helps them sleep.I'm 77 years old and have never used marijuana and see no use to start now. I suppose the folks posting here who do use it see no harm no foul. Dont knock it until ya try it!! LOLOL J/K...I waited until I was 30 to use it. I get it.I'm 77 years old and have never used marijuana and see no use to start now. I suppose the folks posting here who do use it see no harm no foul. I dont know how it can be good for a person but to each their own.
Alcohol kills more than any other drug out there. How do you feel about the recreational effects of alcohol?
I agree with all of this. Marijuana is not the same as hard drugs and alcohol does far more damage than anything.I don’t use recreationally. I use relaxationally.
Just sayin.
For real though. I use it at night and night alone. For sleep. Without it, I sleep about 3 hours. With, I get 5 hours. On average.
As to the question I see both sides. Just like alcohol, there are those that can have a glass of wine every night and be fine, and those that abuse it daily.
I understand JSF perspective and Theo. Neither are wrong, but for me, I lean more towards less government restrictions as I truly believe there are actual benefits from Mary Jane, and alcohol is far more destructive. IMO.
As for legalizing more harsh stuff? I am a hard no. The interesting thing for me is that at the Federal level, Mary Jane is classified worse than cocaine. That’s nuts.
Marijuana and heroin are schedule 1 drugs and cocaine, fentanyl, Oxycontin etc are schedule 2. Bonkers.
This perfectly sheds light on the lack of logic with Government. You know, the people that many believe can manage their finances better than they themselves can.
I think that makes a lot of sense. Lets collect more information on what the actual results of legalization are.I used to be very much in favor of open weed laws. I don’t think it’s working out like I imagined it. Seems like the use of ALL drugs increased when jurisdictions put this in place. I think we may want to pump the brakes on it. That makes no sense. None. You know what my Dad used to call people who do pot? Hopheads. All hopped up on pot. Bunch of hopheads.
That makes no sense. None.
Oregon reversed its legalization of hard drugs because of deaths. So they couldn't forsee that happening?I don’t use recreationally. I use relaxationally.
Just sayin.

You’re an anxious neurotic mess? I could not have guessedI don’t use recreationally. I use relaxationally.

Stupid people do drugs and die. Where's the problem?Oregon reversed its legalization of hard drugs because of deaths. So they couldn't forsee that happening?
In vino veritas, in cervisio felicitas. 😁I mean, I went and drank some indica and smoked an IPA yesterday, but as the board knows all to well, my mental state is questionable at best.
Please don’t ask the result of my day yesterday.
I am not a drug guy and I really don't like pot. However, that said six years ago, I was hit by a car as a pedestrian and almost died (texting woman driving who didn't even get a ticket because California loves criminals but I digress). For the next six months after the accident, I really wanted to die,, the pain from the head injury, broken leg, etc. were very problematic. I tried to get off the narcotics as soon as I possibly could because addiction is real, and they make pooping problematic as well. Sleep was also a major issue. So I started using gummy's 10 mg which helped a lot.. I used them for two years and was thrilled to finally be able to get off them because as I said, I'm not a drug guy and I don't like the way it makes me feel, I used them out of necessity. I had a medical marijuana card, but it was a hassle to use. Glad I had the opportunities to get the gummies ...I'm 77 years old and have never used marijuana and see no use to start now. I suppose the folks posting here who do use it see no harm no foul. I dont know how it can be good for a person but to each their own.
This is exactly why pharmaceutical companies have so much disinformation out there...like "gateway drug" etc. I know MANY of these situations. My lifelong friend had complete shoulder repair and did not want opiates.....and his gummies took EVERY BIT of pain away.I had an accident and came away with 4 herniated discs in my neck and a shoulder injury so bad that the only thing they can do is a reverse shoulder replacement. Tried everything available on the open market to relieve the pain so I can sleep- I have a medical maryjane card and use it to buy the marijuana gummies- they work really well as I have been getting a decent nights sleep now- am having the shoulder replacement surgery on May 6th - then they will see what they can do about the 4 herniated discs in my neck - so yes I am going to vote for it
No. I would be a benevolent authority. Beto is an evil commie.Beto????
I'm sure he thinks that too. You can take my cigars off my corpse, only way you fixin to get them.No. I would be a benevolent authority. Beto is an evil commie.
Yeah. To be honest, I am uncomfortable with some of my political transformation. I am still very traditional in terms of the world view, but I have certainly come to a place where I dont think people know whats best for themselves. It reached a critical mass for me, and I feel that someone needs to come in a and make decisions FOR these people. I am sick and tired of our people being weak fat slobs, addicted to screens, aand settling for a diminished lifestyle. Most people need a swift kick in the ass. I am uncomfortable with it, but in many regards I am starting to see the value in a nanny state for certain things.I'm sure he thinks that too. You can take my cigars off my corpse, only way you fixin to get them.
