I rather doubt Trump pays his own bills matter of fact he has a long history of refusing to pay his bills. Given the fact Cohen is a thief and 130k being a small amount of money for both billionaires and presidential candidates I think a case can and will be made that Cohen took it upon himself to fix a problem and then got his money back without his client being fully aware of what he was paying for.

Regardless I take a dim view of any former president being dragged into court for less than treason regardless of party.
I think the retainer was the repayment.

If Trump is found guilty does that mean that ALL NDA’s signed by accusers would be illegal during an active campaign?
Why will he not respond to his pedo's showering with his daughter, and sexually abusing here? Is that OK with him? Hunter selling kindergarten paintings for hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay the "big guy"?

No. Just those related to Trump. We will only apply this stuff to him to “save Democracy”. While Destroying the Republic.
Well, IF they find Trump guilty because of the NDA payment, ALL those members of Congress who have used the tax payer funded slush fund to make NDA payments better pray to God that Trump doesn't win the election.

A monthly retainer would cover anything the attorney did for you. And you wouldn't necessarily get an itemized bill of what was done. It could simply state, legal fees and costs associated with ________________. It is almost like having an in-house council, they get paid a annual income to handle all your legal issues.

Thanks. I completely forgot about that. A special fund set up for congressional members for exactly this purpose! You should email the defense team. 😂

Your either missing or ignoring a very important part of the evidence here. I am a bit surprised this hasn't gotten more media attention because it ties everything together and is, IMO, the most important documentary evidence. And thats Alan Weisselberg's notes. It may be its too complex for the average guy to digest. I have been waiting to see if the Trump side was going to try and claim it wasn't his notes because it's incredibly damaging to Trump. Trump could also call AW as a witness if they were going to claim they weren't his notes, but doesn't look like that is happening. The prosecution wouldn't call him because he would just take the 5th, but the defense could if he would help them.

But the notes prove several things. 1) This wasn't any retainer.....he spells out what they where paying Cohen for. 2) It proves the Trump organization paid for the $130K and that the Trump CFO new exactly what the payments were for 3) They "gross the payment up" which goes a long way towards proving they were not just trying to hide that this was a reimbursement but that they were disguising it as legal fees, which is a crime. No other reason to gross the payment up that way. 4) Proves that Cohen did not act alone on this..... the CFO knew everything.

The payments ended up being $420,000. IMO its simply not reasonable to believe that Trump would pay this amount of money without knowing what it was for. Especially since the ultimate payment to Daniels was only $130K. Trump certainly would have had the difference explained to him. And there is no way on Gods green earth that AW took it on his own to pay off a porn star and gross up the payment without Trump's knowledge at a time when Trump is running for president. It's just not reasonable.

The other part about whether this is something that should take down a president is certainly something that can be debated. I think in a vacuum I would probably agree with you........but its not a vacuum and Trump has a very long list of troubling behavior already on his resume.

Good Lord your TDS is strong. Absolute lunacy. None of your post has anything to do with proving election interference. Absolutely zero.

You really do eat paint chips.

This would be the same Alan Weisselberg that just pled guilty to perjury? And a former Trump CFO?

Just call Costello and have him relate to what Cohen admitted to him---Trump had nothing to do with orchestrating the payment. It was Cohen.

Ya, the same guy who worked with the Trump organization since 1973. Originally with Fred Trump.

Isn't it interesting how virtually everybody close to Trump ends up indicted or in jail?

But it also has no impact on this trial or his notes leading to these payments.

Your not going to find "clean" people working with Trump.......so you have to use the crooked men he surrounds himself with.

Interesting? Yeah, it’s especially interesting how this administration and this government is using lawfare to try and take down a political opponent, and associates of Trump are just fodder to get what they want.

A corrupt government can take down whoever they want. That’s what we are seeing. The majority of America gets it, but you never will because your TDS Trumps everything.

You have an illness. Sad really.

I had to laugh at the stupidity of anybody bringing up Trump people being indicted or in jail as evidence of the bad people Trump had RATHER than it making the point (unintended of course) of a 2 tier "justice" system, one for democrats and one for republicans. Undocumented shifty is a tool.

Trump paid his lawyer for terms surrounding an NDA.

If it’s not a legal fee, what is it?

Again, can a politician ever pay someone who falsely accuses them to be quiet ever again?

And if not, doesn’t that make it ridiculously easy to eliminate and political candidate you want?

If he ever stops breaking the law they might stop investigating him.

But I won't hold me breath. He is the biggest crook we have ever had in office.

And its not politics for me........you guys just can't call a spade a spade. Were the Clintons crooked (Whitewater, pardon of Marc Rich, disappearing emails)......of course they were. Was the Hunter Biden/Burisma deal shady.........of course it was. At a minimum Burisma was buying political influence.

But nobody comes close to Trump for pure volume of crimes or inappropriate behavior.
And it's not politics for you and you are hanging your b**lls out to get a conviction on THIS case? Who the hell are you trying to snooker. Why wasn't this case brought 8 years ago. Why did Bragg initially pass on this case until he was criticized in a book? Is this a case brought against anybody else but Trump. You would have some credibility to say there are better cases than this and that this is a sham but your cred is zero. Please spare us the " it's not the politics for me" when you’re going to the mat on THIS case. You are full of it.

You might as well save your breath. Fatman and I already destroyed him. You are likely on ignore too. He gets his feelz hurt pretty easily, and has the debate skills of Kal, 😂

I love his arguments "all politicians lie, but Trump lies more" and his latest "politicians are crooks but Trump is a bigger crook". Clintons are murderers and he fails to mention that. Dude is so whacked in the head it's hilarious.

Worth 15 mins if you have it…

@kalimgoodman

Vivek is very smart but he is trying to be Trump's VP, so you can't trust his word. He was calling this case a scam and fake from day 1. He was always going to defend Trump.

He is missing plenty of details. He's fake.

But I will say that if I was the jury, I couldn't convict based on the evidence I've seen.

Can't convict for what?.......it's pretty much a slam dunk what the basic facts are. The documents alone prove what was done. Cohen paid Stormy, Trump organization reimbursed Cohen for the $ and grossed it up to look like legal fees and disguise that it was a reimbursement. Trump CFO was part of the planning. These things aren't in question at this point.

But it likely won't matter much anyway.

I agree with most of that. I just don't think they truly established that Trump told them or knew about lying on business records. He clearly knew of the payment but case is about business records.

To convict, the jury would have to convict on circumstantial evidence. It won't be tough to make that assumption but it's still an assumption.
