Well boys I'm back from the Heisman award dinner and I had a blast. Arrived to an open bar cocktail hour at which I turned back a drink or four. There were only a few past heisman winners mingling around at this point. At 7pm they opened to doors to the main ballroom where the evenings events would take place. They walked all the past heisman winners out in a row to the stage where their table was placed. (I posted a picture of them standing in front of their table right before they took their seats and one of Tebow sitting.) It was unbelievable just to be around so many college football greats at one time. The dinner started with a highlight video with some game footage from every single heisman winner in history. They then announced each past winner who was up on stage. There were speaches from Herschel Walker and Charles Woodson. Herschel still looks like he could suit up and be a force carrying the rock, he was built like a brickhouse. I really enjoyed his speech as well, it was very motivating. I recorded it along with Tebow's speech, Bernie Machem's speech and half of Meyer's speech(damn camera ran out of space halfway through and cut him off at which point I scrambled to erase old pictures to clear up more space before Tebow got up) My camera stopped recording while Coach Meyer was right in the middle of the story about how his phone went out right before Tebow was about to announce his college choice. I will post those videos if someone knows how I may go about doing so. The dinner was fantastic and the company was even better. Tebow spoke last and right after Tebow's speech everyone got up and left. I ran over to where Tebow was being escorted off the stage in hopes of catching a picture opportunity. However a bunch of security guys lined up and blocked off any and all access to Tebow. Tebow apologized for not being able to stop and talk as they escorted him away. They sold heisman footballs at the cocktail hour for people to get autographs so I had bought one hoping to get Tebow to sign it. I thought all was lost and my football would go unsigned until I noticed a few past winners stayed around after dinner to sign and pose for pictures. I ended up getting Danny Wuerffel, Urban Meyer, Herchel Walker, Billy Sims, Eric Crouch and Chris Weinke to sign my football. I also got a picture with Urban and one with DW which I posted below. It was the perfect ending to a great great night. Again if anyone knows how I can post these videos I took of the speeches let me know. I would love to share them...
