The Florida Gators football program will have their Orange and Blue Spring Game played later today. The Gators will complete their 2024 spring camp this Saturday at 1 pm EST on ESPN+.

Florida will have plenty of new faces playing in their first game in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. One side of the ball that should have plenty of new faces is the Florida offense. Florida has added some offensive talent through their recruiting class and transfer portal. Here are three offensive newcomers to watch in Florida’s spring game.

QB DJ Lagway

Five-star quarterback DJ Lagway was a major signing for Billy Napier and the Florida coaching staff. Lagway was the #1 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2024 and enrolled early.

Lagway has gotten a lot of action in the spring camps whether it’s been in practice or scrimmages. The Lone Star State native is expected to be the backup quarterback for Graham Mertz this season but will still get some playing time this season.

While Lagway is very talented, he still has a lot to learn before cementing his role as the starting QB at Florida. He will have some packages in the regular season but will play a lot in the spring game on Saturday.

2. OT Devon Manuel

One of the biggest positions of need for the Gators last offseason was the offensive line. Florida desperately needed to upgrade their offensive line, especially at right tackle. Devon Manuel might be the replacement they were looking for.

Devon Manuel was an Arkansas transfer who has tremendous size and some game action during his collegiate career. At 6’7” and 319 pounds, Manuel is one of the biggest offensive linemen on Florida’s roster.

Devon Manuel will likely play a lot of left tackle in the spring game but he’s competing for the right tackle role. Redshirt junior Austin Barber is Florida’s starting left tackle but won’t play in the spring game.

3. WR Chimere Dike

Senior wide receiver Chimere Dike was another big Transfer Portal get for the Florida Gators. Dike was the #1 receiver for Wisconsin and had a great junior season for the Badgers with Mertz at quarterback.

During that season, Dike recorded 47 receptions for 689 receiving yards and a team-high six touchdowns. Dike has a great relationship with Mertz and their chemistry is already showing on the field.

Dike is one of the projected starting wide receivers for the Gators next season. The Gators might try to add another receiver from the Transfer Portal. However, Dike’s chemistry with Mertz will help him get plenty of targets during the regular season.
