We all wanted this year to be light years better than last, but we all knew it most likely wouldn’t be. We have a coaching staff who is clearly still learning on the job and a bunch of underclassmen are our best players. Lagway will be the guy who determines if this staff succeeds or fails. We all have known that for a while now. Thankfully, he looks like the real deal to say the least. He’s not going anywhere and most of the commits will stick because of that.
Let out play out and don’t make it more than it really is - a painful loss that will be forgotten if Lagway and the talent already on the roster continues to develop and the recruits that stick come in and resurrect this once mighty program. We can all see the potential and the way this might work. It’s just a very long, bumpy, noisy, frustrating road to realizing it. Let it play out. Keep cheering and try to enjoy the rest of your lives outside of Gator football.
