Most Disturbing Quote of Meyer Report/Investigation

If you didn't think the fix was in, this quote takes the cake:

"While those denials were plainly not accurate, Coach Meyer did not, in our view, deliberately lie," lead investigator Mary Jo White said. "... Coach Meyer impressed us with his sincere commitment to the 'respect for women' core value that he espouses and tries to instill in his players."

This a woman and a former DA for the Southern District of New York. With mounds of evidence saying that Meyer clearly lied, she let him off the hook publicly by saying he didn't mean to lie. That's such a ridiculous assertion on any level. Second, there was absolutely no reason to comment publicly on his being sincere in his "respect for women" core value. It's absolutely clear that he's never, ever actually meant that, and he certainly didn't operate with that value in dealing with Zach Smith.

You can argue his punishment, but for the former DA and head of the SEC to say those things (without prompting) is just mindboggling.
