So for those unaware, Scott Baird was a GPD officer killed while trying to remove a batting cage from a public road. Early in the morning, and in heavy fog, he got out of his car to try to remove it, when he was hit by another motorist that couldn't see shit in the heavy fog. He was killed.
There were numerous allegations about local HS baseball teams having "pulled a prank" but when investigators moved in, they closed ranks- Affluent families and their attorneys.
There are plenty of articles about it if you just use the google machine.
But I would have suspected that by now, years later- At least ONE of the culpable parties would have found Jesus, or been diagnosed with terminal cancer etc and just wanted to get their guilt off of their chest on a deathbed.. Something???
There had to have been several people involved in placing that batting cage in the road, those things aren't exactly light as a feather. Surely one of them by now has to be battling the ethical quandary, or maybe they've gone on to big things, and don't want to **** it up.
It just seems strange to think that after all these years the burden of that secret wouldn't be absolutely crushing, and one you'd want to let go.
I think Tiffany Sessions is still "missing" too.. So maybe I'm wrong. Maybe we keep too many secrets here in Gainesville.
