Seven Florida players were selected to an SEC leading 11 conference awards including SEC Player of the Year and SEC Freshman of the Year.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
Seven members of the Florida softball team were selected to receive 11 total Southeastern Conference postseason awards as announced by the league office early Friday morning.

Sophomore catcher Jocelyn Erickson and freshman pitcher Keagan Rothrock headlined the awards received for the Gators as Erickson claimed SEC Player of the Year, SEC All-Defensive Team and All-SEC First Team honors, while Rothrock was named SEC Freshman of the Year and earned All-SEC Second Team accolades.

UF has now won back-to-back SEC Player of the Year awards as Erickson follows up Skylar Wallace, who earned it after a historic 2023 campaign, and this is the first SEC Freshman of the Year award for the program since Amanda Lorenz won the first for the program in 2016.

Joining Erickson as an All-SEC First Team selection is Kendra Falby, Korbe Otis, Skylar Wallace and Reagan Walsh for a total of five first team selections. The number is tied for the most first team selections with regular season champion Tennessee, while it’s also the most first team selection for UF since the 2017 season when the Orange & Blue produced six first team members.

This is Wallace’s third All-SEC First Team honor, while it is Falby, Walsh, Otis and Erickson’s first All-SEC First Team accolade.

Rothrock is joined on the All-SEC Second Team by fellow freshman Ava Brown. The duo brought the total number of All-SEC selections this year to seven, which ties the most players selected since Florida had seven players in 2017.

Erickson completed the trifecta as she was also named to the SEC All-Defensive Team and she is the first player in program history to be earn all three awards since Kelsey Stewart in 2015 and she’s the first UF catcher to earn SEC All-Defensive honors since Janell Wheaton in 2018.

Kendra Falby also made her debut appearance on the SEC All-Defensive Team as she has excited fans since her arrival as a freshman. This season Falby has three outfield assists, which includes turning a pair of game-ending double plays from her center field position against UCLA and Florida State.
