Our leadership needs to give this some serious consideration.

Florida’s 2024 football schedule is a joke. sadgator doesn’t care about payoff expansion…at some point, you just gotta say enough is enough.

Florida has been abused and mistreated by this conference in scheduling for years and years and for far too long enough.

There is no chance to be competitively successful in either the short or long term with this scheduling model.

sadgator understands the money aspect, but it is time to bag ass out of this ungrateful and abusive league and do what is best for us.

sadgator is 100% serious. Tell that scumbag Greg Sankey and the rest of the shysters in the league office that they kiss our nuts, and let’s take the brand out west where we can win some games and get some respect. F-it.

I don't disagree. Florida not part of the good ole boy club. Irritates the hell out of them that we have dominated athletically. But they do need the Florida TV market and that is part of the reason we get saddled with this type of schedule.

This is us catching our better semi-annual schedule in 2025 if we stay at 8 games.

1. GA
2. Bama
3. OK
4. Auburn
5. Arkansas
6. SC
7. Mizzu
8. Vandy

Definitely better than 2024 but still a meat grinder at the top. We did get screwed big time in 2024 if the SEC goes to a 9 game schedule in 2025 changing things again.

10-2 for a playoff lock will be pretty hard even with 8 games without the schedule of the East and TX and OK coming in.

Not to worry. Texas stands ready to be the team that values itself above all others

That 2024 schedule is brutal. I think eventually SEC and Big 10 will be the only 2 major conferences and each conf will put 5 teams in the playoff. It's gunna be like the NFL with AFC and NFC. You will be able to make the playoffs going 8 and 4 and it will be considered a great yr

Why do you think that? There will be few 10-2 or better teams in those meat grinders and a 2 loss team in their conference champ game is likely to go over a 9-3 team. I think this points to only 3 SEC teams most years with an occasional 4 teams. Adding TX and OK really affects what the records will be.

SEC is the second best football league in the world. Not too many easy schedules to be put together. I’d rather see a schedule like this than a schedule with 3 directional schools. I just want to see the gators competing in the league. If they do, everything else will work out.

I am starting to think as long as you have 2 decent out of conference opponents that an 8 game SEC schedule is better now that TX and OK are in the league. The schedule would still be tougher or match up with any new Big 10 schedule despite having less conference games and a 9th game would more than likely just make it harder to make the 12 team playoff.

Too much money to leave the SEC. The school/UF UAA just isn’t going to get up and walk away from that.
Paco,

Absolutely agree - $$$ is KING !
BUT
Sad, in his unique way, certainly captured the Full Flavor of my thoughts on the SCREW JOB the Gators received on SEC 2024 scheduling ! LOL

Paco,
Where did the 11 year "Look Back" period come from ?
Not voted on - just Sankey's method of screwing the Schools he doesn't like & Kissing Bama & UGA's ASS !

Speaking of which -

Don’t disagree at all but we aren’t leaving the SEC. To Bradley’s point above. It’s the 2nd best football league in the world only behind the NFL. Even the lousy teams in the SEC make too much money to walk away.

Think you get 8 home games in 2024 though. Huge positive there

The elimination of divisions sucks. The one year scheduling model sucks. It doesn’t fit, it doesn’t make sense. They entire thing seems so creepy and haphazardly put together.

And unfortunately…our program is in a state where we are unprepared and incapable of being competitive in this new reality…

More titles for Bama and UGA…woo. hoo.

You’re mostly correct about the 1 year scheduling model and how it was put together. Sankey did screw up on this. At the same time we aren’t leaving the SEC. And neither are the UKs, Vandy’s, USCjrs and others of the world that have never won a SEC title and their chances just decreased even more all because of the mighty dollar. The SEC has become NFL lite.

It was not that long ago that sadgator was goofing on Florida for playing Towson.

Now sadgator longs to play Towson….
That was a mistake on your part for sure. Our schedule was already one of the tougher schedules in the country playing 2 cupcakes per year. There was nothing ever wrong with our schedule or any reason to apologize. Now look what is happening.

I think a schedule should be balanced. Need a few cupcakes to get kinks worked about. Need 5 avg teams where if you play well you win. Need 3 really challenging games where it's 50 50. Then you have the playoff. I think that is the best model. Yes playing the toughest schedule gets you a ton of money but what good is that money if you can't win? Yes you will still have bad teams in the conf every yr. It's not like OU or Texas is unbeatable, we just beat OU last yr.

It definitely makes going undefeated much more difficult especially if teams like Tenn and Auburn are good.

I personally think the Gators should take fsu off the schedule. It's a great rivalry but no need for it now

The schedule should be 9 SEC games, FSU and 2 directional schools/cupcakes. 1 cupcake as the first game of the season basically used as like a preseason game and then another cupcake after the last SEC regular season game. Seems simple enough to me.

You like the 9 over 8?

Select the appropriate technologies and frameworks to how to build a streaming website. Consider options like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and popular frameworks such as React.js or Angular for the frontend. For the backend, you might consider using programming languages like Python, Node.js, or Ruby, along with frameworks like Django, Express, or Ruby on Rails. Additionally, you'll need to choose a suitable video encoding and streaming technology, such as HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) or DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP).

12 team format 9-3 gets them in playoff every year. As much as that would suck it’s gonna be the new game.

Now that there is 16 SEC teams yes I think another SEC game probably needs to be added if they are doing away with divisions. Ultimately, I think that is what will end up happening as well.
Paco,

I see your point but don't fully agree.

Sankey tried to give ESPN a FREE 9th game.
Sankey, at the SEC Spring Meeting, tried like hell to get SEC to go out front & schedule the 9th game saying
money follows, it doesn’t lead”
“(if) all you do is chase money, you make really bad decisions …. We won’t do that here.”

School presidents for a variety of reason, including pressure from ADs & HCs, voted that FREE 9th game down

IMO, ESPN will need to come up with more money before 9th game is scheduled.

Read that Most Coaches don't like the possibility of an extra SEC loss
SINCE
It affects Job Retention & their Mega Salaries & Perks - can't say I blame them. Coaching turnover bad enough already.

It sucks so bad that Texas is going to be in the SEC…

Imagine how much the A&M fans hate this…

It’s seriously terrible.

sadgator can’t help but think that this marriage is simply doomed from the start…would not be totally surprised if after a few disastrous years they up and bag ass…

It’s really not a good fit…it’s just not…Arkansas and Missouri are barely appropriate fits as it is…

Where is Texas going to go? The only 2 conferences left are the SEC and the Big 10. Those “old days” are gone and not coming back.

Could see them return to the Big 12. Hell they could go anywhere they want…Big 10, PAC-12, Mountain West, American, Independent.

This ain’t over yet. It’s not going to work for them in the SEC, and they are too egocentric and narcissistic to stay put…just gotta wait…sadgator’ll give it less than a decade…

There’s a reason all these other schools want to get away from them…they are toxic.

They’ll be nothing left of those conferences in a decade. Big 10 will be the only conference left that would be able to give them what they want financially.

It’s slowly starting to go the way of some of these schools won’t even care all that much about the performance of their programs. It’s going to be too much money and lining peoples pockets to walk away from.

The SEC home offices are in Alabama.
The SEC game officials and their office administrators have had a boner for UF forever,,, are any of you new??? I've been a Gator fan for 57 years and it's more or less been this way forever, and more so since the 80's probation era when UF attempted to join the chearer GoB's in their usual methods....

Vandy hangs around for the $$$,$$$,$$$, and so will the new VU.
Socialist-U is what it is, so just get used to it....

You can always take comfort in the fact that UF has more total SEC-C titles than any one else, and that looks to remain so, even if football and basketball remain wishy-washy average....
UF continues to own the All Sports category in the SEC....

Talking Season Opinions never seem to die, or even change much....

The idea of leaving the SEC is terrible one. I can't imagine being part of the Pac 12 or any other conference. Suck it up and get better.

Wait, you think UGA got some kind of favoritism for 2024? At Bama, at Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, and opening against Clemson. Shirley you must be joking.

Gwinnett,

See your point - addition of @ Texas does make your schedule a little tougher.

To ease your pain, for one of the few times ever, I will be pulling for you (silently - no yelling of "Go you Hairy Dawgs") when you visit Austin.

Hoping your Defense will get a chance to Introduce Arch Manning to the SEC ! LOL
