Florida athletics weekly update 3/2-3/5

Here's an update on all things in Gator sports from Monday, 3/2 through Thursday, 3/5. I'll have your weekend recap on Sunday.

Softball:
No. 1 Florida improved to 24-0 on the season after victories over Long Beach State, No. 2/3 Michigan and San Jose State. Pitcher Delanie Gourley was named National Pitcher of the Week SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Freshmen Aleshia Ocasio was named SEC freshmen of the week.

Baseball:
No. 2 Florida lost 4-3 on the road to No. 9 UCF and later won 10-2 at home against UCF in a home-and-home. The Gators are now 11-2 on the season.

Track:
No. 1/3 Florida qualified 23 athletes for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 13-14. They will take a total of 25 athletes to the championships as two will be alternatives. Stipe Zunic broke his own Croatian national record in the shot put at the European Athletic Indoor Championships.

Gymnastics:
Freshmen Kennedy Baker won her fourth SEC freshmen of the week honors.

Women's Basketball:
Freshmen Haley Lorenzen was named to the All-SEC Freshmen team. Florida was knocked out of the SEC tournament by Auburn in a 71-49 defeat.

Lacrosse:
Shannon Gilroy set the all-time scoring record at Florida in an 11-8 win over No. 17 Loyola on Tuesday. No. 4 Florida improved to 5-1 on the season.

Swimming:
The women qualified 11 swimmers to participate in the NCAA Championships.
