Rivera can break this game wide open.

One out, Gators on second and third. Gators up by 3.

Good job winning the series; at this point I have to wonder if this team can make a run or if they have enough depth to be competitive the rest of the season. Its still early so time will tell.

GO Canes!

Thanks for the kudos. Miami is ranked in the top ten. I will be interested to see how they do the rest of the year. Your Saturday starter was unhittable. We roughed up the other two starters, and the UM blullpen pretty bad. But we have good hitters all up and down the lineup, so they may fare better against a different team.

Good guys win 7-3.

Good series win over a top ten team.

Definitely a solid series win. Puk hasn't been sharp in either of his starts, but Shore and Faedo look like absolute aces. Everybody is getting on base. Some of the OBAs are absurd. Lipput looks like an absolute bastard to deal with.

Your pitching staff might be deep when the guy who throws a no-hitter for 6.1 innings isn't guy who wins the award.

#Gators Friday night starter Logan Shore named the #SEC Pitcher of the Week after his complete game shutout vs. Miami this weekend.

The Mark is a tough place to win, so getting 2 out of 3 is always a good thing. Need to get Puk on track. When he does, we may have the best 1-2-3 combo in the country.

So, after topping UCF last night in Orlando, Florida comes home for four straight games, starting with tonight against UCF. Dartmouth is the weekend opponent.

Florida blanks UCF 4-0 with freshman Kowar getting the win. He pitched five innings and 66 pitches. Freshman Singer came in as middle reliever and did very well.

13 strike outs with no walks.

Kowar and Singer are probably going to replace Shore and Puk next year in the weekend rotation.

No errors tonight either.

Gator pitching staff now leads the nation in strikeouts. With Shore, Puk, Faedo, Singer and Kowar the Gator pitching staff has 5 future first round draft picks. Dunning will be a very high pick too.

The depth of the pitching staff is VERY impressive. This freshman class is something else.

Florida just swept the series with Dartmouth. They are not very good. We don't play a highly rated team for some time.

When do we play someone that matters again? What do we have, one loss because Puk lost his control out there? Im assuming we are still #1

Bottom of 8th, Florida up 16-5. Shore pitched 6 innings but was not particularly sharp. He did not need to be. The bats were active

Logan finished six innings. Moss comes in for the 7th and 8th and Demurias pitched the 9th.

Florida ahead by 1-0 top of sixth. Singer comes in for Puk who pitched 5.1 innings, so he is the pitcher that can get the win.

I went over to Baseball America to see the top 100 draft picks. Florida is projected to have six players drafted in the top 100. Vanderbilt, with all its draft picks the last two years, has done a good job of stacking their roster. They are projected to have 4 picks. As is Miami. LSU has a few projected to go in the top 100, as does South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, TAM, Auburn, Missouri, Mississippi and Mississippi State. That is 13 of the 14, with Alabama being the lone program with no top 100 projected draftees. This is one reason the SEC is so tough in baseball.

The ACC also has a lot of programs with good talent. In addition to Miami, Louisville, GaTech, NC State, UNC, Virginia, Clemson, Duke, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest all have at least one payer projected in the top 100. That is 10 of the 14 programs. Guess which teams are missing?

Tonight. Florida hosts FSU in Gainesville @7:00pm on the SEC, SEC, SEC Tv channel.

Florida State holds a 127-107-1 (.543) advantage in the all-time series, while Florida has a 57-47 (.548) edge in Gainesville.

Head coach Kevin O’Sullivan is 15-15 (.500) against Florida State, 9-1 (.900) in Gainesville, 4-5 (.444) in Tallahassee and 2-9 (.182) at neutral sites.

The Gators had claimed five straight meetings between the Sunshine State rivals before suffering back-to-back losses last season in Jacksonville (8-3 on March 31) and Tallahassee (4-3 in 12 innings on April 14). However, Florida claimed both contests of the NCAA Gainesville Super Regional, 13-5 and 11-4, to advance to the College World Series.

FSU will throw freshman left-hander Tyler Holton (0-1, 2.77 ERA), while the Gators will counter with junior right-hander Dane Dunning (1-0, 4.91). FSU won the regular-season series last year 2-1, but UF eliminated the Seminoles from the NCAA Tournament in two games (13-5, 11-4) in the Gainesville Super Regional in June.

SEC award: Alex Faedo was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Faedo retired the first 19 Harvard hitters of the series finale Saturday night until yielding a one-out single in the seventh inning. He totaled career highs in innings pitched (8.1) and strikeouts (13) in improving to 4-0. Faedo also lowered his ERA to 1.42, the best for a Gator starter, and did not issue any walks. He gave up two hits and an unearned run.

Home shut out against FSU.

6-0

First home shut out against FSU since 1994. ( I think)

f FSU

Nice job by our pitching staff tonight. Defense made some big plays too. Always good to get the first one in the series against these guys.

lol fsu is awful all the way around, they can't even catch easy pop ups anywhere on the field. That ball alonso hit might still not have landed
