After the reported pay out for allowing their likeness in the game was only $500, the College Football Player's Association VP urged players not to opt in.

Personally, I think that being in a video game is one of the best marketing tools any college player can have. It's free press. As someone who grew up playing NCAA Football since the nineties, I got to know a lot of players I never would have seen on TV from them being in the game. I used to buy the preseason magazines so I could go in and type in their names myself. NFL players get something like 20k+ to be in Madden, but there are just too many players for any video game company to pay that much to each individual.

I really hope the new game isn't railroaded.
