While he hasn’t been the play caller all of the years with Chadwell, rumors are he was calling plays this year at Liberty.

They run a spread option offense based around the read option with RPO’s. From quick research…it appears they run it out of several personnel sets: 21;11;12;20;21.

Here is an interesting quote I found in an article with Jamey Chadwell talking about his offense…

“The reason why we like to run the offense that we do, you don’t have to have the best linemen in the country to win games,” Chadwell said. “You don’t have to have the best receivers in the country to win games. Every job that I have had has been a rebuild. We’ve had to develop and recruit talent that fits your system.”

For those that want to see Florida flinging the ball all over the field, will need to adjust their expectations…over the last 4 years their offense has been very run heavy. 70% run this year, 58% run last year, 62% run in 2021; 65% run in 2020.

However, they have been a very explosive offense over the last 4 years. This year they had 85 plays of 20+ yards. 2022 was 70 plays; 2021 was 77 plays; 2020 was 64 plays of 20 + yards.

Here’s a breakdown of Offensive Stats from Liberty this year and Coastal the last 3 Years.

2023: 40.8 PPG; 49.6% 3rd down ; 212 Passing YPG; 302 Rushing YPG; 6.1 Yards/Run; 9 Sacks allowed; 71.5 plays per game.

2022: 29.1 PPG; 42.7% 3rd down; 246 Passing YPG; 160 Rushing YPG; 4.0 Yards/Run; 30 Sacks allowed; 69.5 plays per game.

2021: 40.9 PPG; 53.8% 3rd down; 265 Passing YPG; 228 Rushing YPG; 5.8 Yards/Run; 22Sacks allowed; 65 plays per game.

2020: 37.2 PPG; 52.3% 3rd down; 231 Passing YPG; 218 Rushing YPG; 5.0 Yards/ Run; 14 sacks allowed; 63 plays per game.
