Sitting in church last week the sermon struck me as I related it to the Gators and what Billy Napier is doing vs the past few years and coaches. It's about the Wise Builders vs the Foolish Builders and where will you (your house) be when the storm hits? The wise builder is slow and methodical and digs deep and lays a strong foundation. The foolish builder builds quickly and in a hurry but on ground with no foundation. And when the storm hits the house with the foundation is still standing while the house with no foundation crumbles and washes away.

Billy is building with a foundation. And we Gator fans need to appreciate what is being done as it will benefit us in the long run. We all worry if recruits will jump ship if we don't win this year..and a few might. But Napier has REAL relationships and has set the foundation to where the first sign of the storm doesn't scare recruits away because they believe in the process. McElwain and Mullen were the Foolish Builders. They came in and won fairly quickly getting us to Atlanta, however when the storm hit (adversity) their houses crumbled. McElwain couldn't survive Credit Card Gate, Will Grier steroids and shark humper...he had no foundation and therefore his program couldn't withstand the storm. Mullen had success but he didn't recruit which is the foundation. He had a shiny toys and a nice house but when he wouldn't fire his friends and lost to Bama at home his final year, he had no foundation and he lost the locker room and program. Relationships weren't important to him. He simply wanted to use our program to get him to the NFL as quick as possible. He didn't build a program that could have long term success.

So Gator fans need to ask themselves do you want a house with foundation or built on sand? If you got sick or lost your job do you want your pretty wife to stick by your side because you built that foundation to withstand any signs of distress or pack up the kids and leave you because you built on sand?

We all want to win, believe me we ALL want to win. But let Napier finish his foundation. This recruiting class is tight and you won't see mass exodus unless he gets fired. It's easy to tell that our young frosh and sophs are studs and just need experience to grow. Another top recruiting class and we will be well on our way.

Rally behind him. He's not perfect or maybe the best OC but he is building a bright future for the Gators. We have to give him time!

Go Gators! Beat Tennessee
