Ali Peek contacted Jon Phillips to see if he would be willing to do a Parting Shots. He replied that it would have to wait until next year. He is 90% sure that he will be given another year of eligibility.
We were under the impression that he was denied an opportunity for a hardship, but apparently, it is still up in the air.
Maybe since he only played in 1 game during the 2007 season, they are able to give him an extra year (he never redshirted during his UF career).
In 2008 he was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award after going 12 of 13 on field goals and 78 of 79 on PATS.
