Pro scouts opine that Heisman Trophy winner Winston outplayed Heisman Trophy winner Mariota in the Rose Bowl. This is one of the major reasons why Tampa will take Winston with the # 1 pick of the NFL draft.

LOL....so now we went from jamie being the best college player ever to well he is better than Tebow because he will probably have a better pro career....outstanding.Originally posted by Seminiferous:
Stylistically, Tebow and Winston are night and day.
Tebow was a brute force with an arm the pros didn't care for.
Winston was nowhere near the runner that Tebow was, but Winston's pocket passing has NFL scouts salivating.
In synopsis, Tebow's game is best suited for college, whilst Winston's game is best suited for the pros.
All are wonderful characteristics to have as a human being and something you must have in common with Tim Tebow. A complete antithesis to everything Jameis is all about.Originally posted by Seminiferous:
No passive/aggressive approach here. Rather, I am trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
Well, this might be relevant if Tebow was the only person on his team and Winston was the only person on his team. Or if the competition was the same.Originally posted by SKSnole:

Ergo, Tim was the better college QB.Originally posted by Seminiferous:

It's not exactly a 100 meter dash where it's clear who is better. It's all opinion.Originally posted by MJWilliamson:

But neither are true.
Tim did better against better competition. Tim was the better college QB
There really IS no debate.
Statistical analysis does not bode as well for jamie as it does for MM either:Originally posted by Dannygator1989:
The noles can't even admit that NFL GMs might be weary about his poor public persona.
And Semi isn't nearly as smart as he projects....oh...I'm a lawyer...I'm sooooo intelligent,
The fag lives in Buckhead and probably visits the Three Legged Cowboy in Midtown.
Regardless though...Jameis will be a failure like Ponder and Geno but he will never get a broadcasting gig like Tebow, because he barely speaks English. And to most Noles, it's not even fathomable that Jameis could do anything even slightly wrong (and our buddy danoleman doesn't even think he says scrong...when everyone knows he did)
Opinion based on measurables.Originally posted by SKSnole:

As a current Brookhaven (adjacent to Buckhead) and former long-time Midtown resident, let me just say a few things.Originally posted by Dannygator1989:

ESPN's QBR has Mariota #1 at 91.7 and Winston #19 at 74.5. Winston was, however #1 in 2013 with an 89.4 rating. Seems his issues this year are probably more mental and maturity related than raw talent.Originally posted by djegators:

According to Pro Football Focus, it isn't even close.
In 2013, FSU played a much weaker schedule and Winston was surrounded by a dozen draft picks. In 2014, they played more legitimate defenses, played from behind for much of the games and Winston clearly had less talent around him across the board. There were probably more "mental" issues this year, but I suspect lesser talent around him and a more difficult schedule may be bigger factors for the difference in his numbers between the two years.Originally posted by BringBackBonner:

Or teams learned how to scheme against Winston i e Saban/Tebow 2009... kind of like the sophomore slump for NFL qb's. Sometimes coaches learn what opposing qb's are bad at and adjust.
The idea that one player clearly had a better career than another based on yardage and touchdown totals. I'm guessing MJ and Paco also believe that Drew Brees has clearly had a better career than Tom Brady.Originally posted by passoverGator:

The final exam for college is over. Tim got an A+. Jameis got an A.Originally posted by Seminiferous:
The ultimate final exam will be the pro draft.
Tampa votes with its pocketbook, somewhere between 20M - 30M for the overall # 1 pick. Tampa considers college career, character, and pro potential. Watch the Bucs digest all of this and invest in Jameis.
Case closed, there is no debate regarding their college careers, doesn't have anything to do with whether Winston will be successful in the NFL or not.Originally posted by SKSnole:

Bit Tebow and Winston played in and won one National Title.Originally posted by SKSnole: The idea that one player clearly had a better career than another based on yardage and touchdown totals. I'm guessing MJ and Paco also believe that Drew Brees has clearly had a better career than Tom Brady.
Tim played against substantially better competition, over four years. Shame on you for comparing the two years of Jameis to the four years of Tim.Originally posted by Seminiferous:
Jameis lost one game as a starter; Timmy lost six.
Tim won both in two years as a starter. Same as with JameisJameis won one Heisman and one national championship in only two years as a starter; Timmy won only one Heisman and one national championship in three years as a starter.
You are certainly entitled to your own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.Timmy was not a superior college QB to Jameis. I opine that Timmy, along with many other college QBs, is a rung below Jameis.
You Gators recognize that the cool geometric logic of my opinions and the purity of my assertions ring true.

So in what ways does your hatred for Tebow affect you?Originally posted by Seminiferous:
I've read the Main Board thread, and, like I've been saying, Winston > Driskel.
My judgment is colored not by hatred for Tebow, but by appreciation for Winston's genius when the stadium lights go on.
