So let me get this straight...because a FEW of our grandfathers tried to slam MLK....Warnock is not a communist, even though he has come out and said he was? Please clarify for the rest of us, son!
A few? LOL.

Man, the Trumpers are taking this loss hard. Maybe they should quit nominating only people that bow down to Trump and come up with some qualified candidates.

Kemp would have won if he ran for the Senate..

The replies on this thread echo the comments of past racists that hated MLK but now act like they acknowledged his status as an American hero...

Congrats "Parking Lot" conservatives your employing the same racist smears that your forefathers in the 60s used. 👏

Righteous Martin Luther King was slandered as a communist | David Ramsey
David Ramsey david.ramsey@gazette.com Jul 11, 2020 Updated Aug 11, 2020 View Comments

Martin Luther King Jr. is rightly lauded today as a crusader against the evil of American inequality and segregation.

But in 1965, at the height of King’s crusade, his critics, who were many, called him a communist. Be sure of this: Getting slandered with inaccurate names is part of the price, yesterday and today, of battling for change in America.

Lerone Martin, a professor at Washington University in Saint Louis, is finishing a book that reveals how the FBI smeared King as a communist.

“You can claim someone is a communist and that means they are anti-America and you can completely write off their claims as anti-American,” Martin says by phone from his home.
that’s a home run over the left field fence!!!!

Warnock's decisive victory in Georgia is the final blow to once-hopeful Republicans in 2022

  • Sen. Raphael Warnock's projected win in the Georgia runoff hands another loss to the GOP.
  • The Republican Party will end the once promising 2022 cycle having failed to reach many of its goals.
  • The GOP will retake the House come January, though the majority will be significantly smaller than expected.
It ended with a whimper in Georgia. This is not how the Republican Party envisioned 2022. This year was going to be a wave year to remember.

Instead, Sen. Raphael Warnock's projected runoff win means Democrats will now have a larger Senate majority than they started the cycle with. Republicans still flipped the House. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis romped to reelection. Conservatives realized their decades-long ambition to overturn Roe v. Wade. But Tuesday's results add another disappointing note to a wave that became a ripple and a party that enters an open presidential contest poised to rip itself apart.

Herschel Walker's showing illustrates that the GOP still struggles to find candidates that can unite their base without turning off general election voters. In particular, many GOP candidates, including Walker, continue to underperform in fastly growing suburbs.

The Democrat-controlled Senate has confirmed 90 federal judicial nominees to the bench as of this week. This is incredible news for people who care about the courts and having actually qualified jurists making highly consequential legal decisions.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) summed up why federal judgeships are so important during a floor speech on Monday. “These appointments are critical: Even though a conservative majority presides on the Supreme Court, the bulk of all federal cases are still resolved by circuit court judges,” he said.

Nearly 50 percent of those people confirmed are women of color. “That’s never happened before,” Schumer said on the Senate floor on Tuesday. “I’m confident a more diverse bench will go a long way in cultivating trust in our courts and in our democracy.”

The Senate is on track to finish the calendar year with more judges confirmed to the federal bench than were confirmed in the first two years of Barack Obama’s and Donald Trump’s administrations, according to Schumer.

Conservatives fear Biden’s judges will sail though a 51-49 Senate next year

"With Herschel Walker's loss, President Biden will be able to undo President Trump's historic transformation of the lower federal courts,"
Mike Davis, former chief counsel for nominations in the Senate Judiciary Committee and president of Article III Project, told Fox News Digital.

Davis predicted "straight party line votes to get nominees confirmed."

Biden is already outpacing Trump with 87 confirmations compared to Trump’s 83 during the first-two years in the White House. Trump and then Majority Leader Mitch McConnell kicked the nominations process into high-gear during the second half of his presidency which led to record-breaking confirmations. The new power structure in the Senate gives Biden the same opportunity.
