This is fairly significant. His own accountants:

Former President Donald Trump's long-time accounting firm informed the Trump Organization last week that it should no longer rely on nearly 10 years' worth of financial statements and that they would no longer be their accountants, citing a conflict of interest.
"We have come to this conclusion based, in part, upon the filings made by the New York Attorney General on January 18, 2022, our own investigation, and information received from internal and external sources," Mazars wrote in a letter to the Trump Organization chief legal officer, advising them to no longer rely on financial statements ending June 2011 through June 2020.
A long list of investigations and lawsuits involving Donald Trump
"While we have not concluded that the various financial statements, as a whole, contain material discrepancies, based upon the totality of the circumstances, we believe our advice to you to no longer rely upon those financial statements is appropriate."
The company also advised the Trump Organization to inform any recipients of the statements, such as lenders or insurers, to not rely on the statements.

Mazars also said it would no longer act as Trump's accountant, citing a "non-waivable conflict of interest." The accounting firm said the only work not completed was the filing of Trump and Melania Trump's tax returns. It says they are still seeking information about an apartment for Matthew Calamari Jr., the company's head of security, which they have sought for months but have not received. Trump's main accountant, Donald Bender, testified before the grand jury investigating the Trump Organization last year, sources told CNN.
The letter was included in a court filing by the New York attorney general's office, which has been trying to enforce a subpoena for documents from Trump and seek his testimony as well as that of Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump. A court hearing is set for Thursday.

I suspect the conflict of interest is that the Trump organization is likely to blame the accounting firm for the discrepancies that will be revealed and they will defend themselves. Hard to win a battle with your own accountants.

Why did you not include the Trump teams response to this? It would help if you’d cite your sources sometimes.

Of course it’s not the final word but it makes you look like a partisan hack. There’s no other reason to not present both sides.

A Trump Organization spokesperson, in a statement to NBC News, said, “While we are disappointed that Mazars has chosen to part ways, their February 9, 2022 letter confirms that after conducting a subsequent review of all prior statements of financial condition, Mazars’ work was performed in accordance with all applicable accounting standards and principles and that such statements of financial condition do not contain any material discrepancies.”

“This confirmation effectively renders the investigations by the DA and AG moot,” the spokesperson said.

They just can't help themselves. I mean how many times do they have to be hoodwinked by the media before they wake up?

How many "false starts" has Illegal Shift been flagged for? I'm putting @Sunburnt Indian in charge of memorializing this. I think he should begin quizzing him, Mensa testing like it's an EKG stress test. ;)

@BSC911 is the all-time leader in being hoodwinked. He just knew Mueller was gonna send Trump to the gallows.

He never recovered.

You have it backwards. This is just a statement from the independent accounting firm about what they are going to do - there are no "two sides" here. There is no specific accusations made as to what is wrong or who is responsible. The fact that you rush to defend Trump reflects your the political hack, not me. Furthermore, that Trump statement you quoted above is false. That is not what the accounting firm said.

The only news of significance here is the decisions the accounting firm has made and there willingness to announce it. There is no point/counter point. All that will come later. The facts are that the accounting firm decided to fire Trump as a client and announced that 10 years worth of statements can't be relied upon.

Hey, maybe there is nothing to it. Perhaps an accounting firm with 44,000 employees just announced to the world that some of the most high profile financial statements they audited are likely wrong because they just don't care what the rest of the business world thinks of them.

Point being.....this is incredibly bad press for Mazars. Yet they still did it. Something sure scared the shit out of them.

🤣 So his accountants are trying to deflect scrutiny away from work THEY have performed for years?🤣🤣🤣 A little late in the game for that! Hilarious.
You have no idea what your talking about. This announcement will invite more scrutiny than ever.

There are always two reasons for everything. The "real reason" and the one that "sounds good". Like Trump-Russia collusion...that :sounded good" and the media ran with it. The "real reason" was the Clinton campaign cooked it up to deflect attention from her server issues and terrible candidacy.

I would assume the "real" reason Mazars resigned is that representing Trump in NY gets one cancelled from other clients many of whom generate far more work than the Trump organization and Trump individually.

I didn't defend anyone. The statement is from a "Trump Organization Spokesperson", not the actual accounting firm.

My problem is you habitually copy and paste articles, omit anything that doesn't fit your agenda, and never provide links. Do us all the favor and when you "break" what you consider a big story just include the link so we can all see the whole thing. I'm usually going to find the story anyway, and when I do anything you omitted has the potential to make you look like a partisan hack. The MSM media does the exact same thing - the power of omission is one of the most nefarious acts of bias they wield.

Here's the statement again, maybe this time you'll read it:

A Trump Organization spokesperson, in a statement to NBC News, said, “While we are disappointed that Mazars has chosen to part ways, their February 9, 2022 letter confirms that after conducting a subsequent review of all prior statements of financial condition, Mazars’ work was performed in accordance with all applicable accounting standards and principles and that such statements of financial condition do not contain any material discrepancies.”

Clearly there's some strong disagreement here about the facts regarding these "discrepancies". And I don't know why this happened, but it wouldn't be the first time a strategic partner was leveraged from helping a conservative if that's what this is. We'll have to wait to find out.

And JFC calm down, you're going to have a stroke over what's most likely nothing.

The Mueller investigation and New York state whiffed miserably in regards to this. The "walls have been closing down" on Trump for how many years now? 🤣

You have no idea what your talking about. This announcement will invite more scrutiny than ever.
So more people will be looking into Trump's finances? LOL No person on the planet has more people looking into his finances. Been that way for 7 years now.

You really deserve every second of the misery this will bring you.

I seem to remember during the long 3+ years of investigating Trump, Adam Schiff going on CNN or some other MSM and basically saying Trump was done, he was going down, they had the goods, he seen the evidence. Funny thing was, Schiff ended up being full of $*&#. No evidence was EVER presented.

🤣 So his accountants are trying to deflect scrutiny away from work THEY have performed for years?🤣🤣🤣 A little late in the game for that! Hilarious.
As a former Principal on the Consulting side in a Big 4 firm, this represents a protection move from the firm. They also said that there would NOT be any material re-statement of financials.

I am no fan per-se of Trump, but this is unlikely to be meaningful.

Even if a crooked DA charged some nonsense it won't work. If they had anything legit he would have been nailed already. I think the Indies are tiring of the media's nonsense with Trump.

Exactly 💯. No way he would be walking free with this many investigations going on if they truly had indictments against him.
And since from the beginning, they knew the whole Russia Russia Russia was fake, they used it as a means to investigate the crap out of Trump. IF there was something they could have nailed him on, they would have.

And he had the intelligence reports to know this was not true. Same with Nadler and Swallowswell. These people should be tried for treason, and if up to me...put to death.

Adam Schitt is the same guy that got hoodwinked by a morning show radio team who claimed they were russians with evidence the 'pee tape' was real.

Wrong. The accounting firm is withdrawing their opinion. That’s the point, despite what the Trump organization is claiming.

That’s my professional opinion. No bias.

Because they aren’t the accounting firms financials. It’s up to the client to restate the financials. They are saying they are withdrawing their unqualified opinion on the existing statements.

Yes, it’s a big deal. This is rarely done unless there are errors.

As you are well aware, consultants don’t opine on financial statements.

If it's a big deal why did you have to edit this post like 5 times adding something every time? LOL

As I said, you guys fall for it every time and you deserve every second of the misery this will give you.

Hilarious part is this will die and then in 6 months these guys will write a book and get you all wound up again.

Just like John Bolton did. And Mary Trump. And Michael Cohen. And Mueller with his report. And Avenatti with his porn star.

You dorks deserve all the heartbreak you get for letting these goobs wind you up

Its been well known that Mazars was Trumps accounting firm for years. They didn't fire him until they saw the AG's information.

Besides, that's not even the important part here. Its them telling everybody not to reply on their statements.

Lol This is just another business being threatened basically not to associate with Trump just like they have been doing to Trump for the past 5 years.

I really don't know what your talking about. Its obvious you don't either. You still don't understand what I said in my last post. Your a complete waste of time.

And this was a headline story on multiple outlets.......that fact that you need a link and can't find the exact story in about 10 seconds says a lot about you.

I really don't know what your talking about.
You know precisely what he's talking about. You posted the thread, spun this was a massive deal, and left out the Trump Organization's response that this was a nothingburger.

Because you needed this to be bigger than it is. Don't worry, in 6 months one of these accountants will write a tell-all book, and you can pop a woody all over again.

And it will go just as flat over that as it will over this. You deserve every second.

Where did I say it took me long to find the article?

And don't assume everyone frequents the same MSM outlets either.

And I don't know what statement I made that shows "I don't know what I'm talking about". I added a link to a story that included the Trump's Spokesman's statement (that for some reason you didn't copy and paste) and simply asked you start citing sources. I didn't take any position on this whatsoever.

I did tell you to calm down, that request stands.

Some of you guys completely miss what this is about. Its a civil action, so we are not talking about Trump going to jail (that's a separate case).

Its also not a bunch of politicians playing politics like the Russia deal.

This is more like Trump University (you know, the Trump scam where he had to pay something like $25M to settle) or Trump stealing money from his own foundation (where he was forced to pay $2M settlement). Both cases Trump essentially lost.

In the end they will likely win again by making Trump pay another whopping check. And this one may be a lot bigger than those others. When a guy has declared Bankruptcy as many times as Trump.......bank fraud is a huge deal.

Trump is the most investigated person not named Jesus in the host of the world!
If he ever stops breaking the law they might stop investigating him.

But I won't hold me breath. He is the biggest crook we have ever had in office.

And its not politics for me........you guys just can't call a spade a spade. Were the Clintons crooked (Whitewater, pardon of Marc Rich, disappearing emails)......of course they were. Was the Hunter Biden/Burisma deal shady.........of course it was. At a minimum Burisma was buying political influence.

But nobody comes close to Trump for pure volume of crimes or inappropriate behavior.

You need to call some of your old friends from the auditing department.

There is no way in hell they were going to restate the financial statements while this trial is going on - they couldn't possible do it. What they did was the most that they could do.

They are now adversarial parties to Trump and they will have documentation for everything they did.
