A path to Unity:
Convention of States with term limits and a balanced budget with max revenue set at 18% of GDP ( the one during Reagan's term that fell 1 vote short in the Senate) could go a long way towards healing us.
Something has to be done to allow the states, not Congress, Potus or SCOTUS, to decide social issues.
Gay marriage, Transgender stuff, drug policy etc.
This limits the lefts abilities to force their agenda on the unwilling. They can wreck their own blue states. People who do not like it can move to a state that does things the way they like.
Red states also need to make their counties the place for electing state senators and maybe have their own electoral college type situation to pick Governors. This is the Jeffersonian model of good government.
This isnt to deny say for example, Atlanta a voice, but to deny them the ability to set all the rules and to assure the rural and suburban areas mostly self rule. Devolution of power to the local level as intended. If its "important" or a "no brainer" then all areas will agree and you can have a state wide law. But for example if environuts in Atlanta want to ban rainwater catchment, restrict building a pond, or limit the number of cows (fart prevention) one can own, they ain't getting it past an overwhelmingly rural senate.
A representative Republic not a democracy!
