"...but schools will have another, lesser school (or more than one) they use as a farm team."

An intriguing idea !

Use them instead of a JC; that way courses transfer easier. Also you could use them as warm up games in the early part of the season - clear the bench in the middle of the 3rd quarter; keep the score down & give them a decent payday.

One in Louisiana - ULL; one in Texas - UNT - Univ North Texas Mean Green

I think it would be more of an unofficial farm team, like UAB taking excess Bama commits with the promise that if they show out they will get to transfer in. UAB gets some guys they wouldn't otherwise get, and Bama gets playing time and intense coaching for more guys.

According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, 2nd-year freshman Emani Bailey has entered the portal, the latest Ragin’ Cajun to do so. He is the 4th Louisiana player in the last 4 days to enter the portal.

No guarantee they all end up in Gainesville.

But if they do, they will at least know the system.

As a true freshman in 2020, Bailey had 10 carries for 60 yards in 5 games. His role grew in 2021 as he totaled 642 yards and 8 touchdowns on 102 attempts. He also made 15 caters for 103 yards.

The Ragin’ Cajuns saw 2 players enter the portal on Sunday, offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence and safety Mekhi Williams-Garner.

On Wednesday, running back Montrell Johnson entered the transfer portal as well.

Rated as the 48th-best running back in the country according to 247Sports.com…Helped lead De La Salle to its second appearance in the State Championship game as a senior, rushing for 182 yards and four scores in the game against St. Thomas More…Was a Sports Illustrated All-American candidate prior to his senior season…Chose Louisiana over programs such as Arizona, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, Arkansas State, Colorado, Duke, Kansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and more.

They joined safety Kobe Hylton, who is now at UTEP, and offensive tackle Kamryn Waites, who has reunited with Napier in Gainesville.

Poaching the 2 starting RBs from ULL probably means no Etienne or Citizen.

Michael Desormeaux, ULL Head Coach will probably post a
Wanted - Dead or Alive Poster with Napier's Picture on 13th & Univ

Clear the bench in the middle of the 3rd quarter; keep the score down & give them a decent payday - maybe they will let Napier live long enough to coach his first season !

Mario Williams 5'11' 184 lbs - slot receiver - 4.4 40 yd dash

Bird Sherrill as director of college personnel, you need to call him - NOW !

Mario Williams is the most explosive receiver recruit Oklahoma has landed since Dede Westbrook out of Blinn Community College in 2015. Williams is a violent route runner. Has violent cuts and gets separation on any defensive back. Any space and he’s gone. Thick body type, but probably a mid-4.4s runner in the 40-yard dash. Excellent at high-pointing the ball. Aggressive player. Already has established next-level ability on double moves. Potential superstar in Oklahoma’s offense.

5*WR from Plant City, FL is leaving Oklahoma; I'm calling him now; hold on, I let you know what he says !

Did he deserve the five-star ranking? That seems to have been answered with an emphatic yes based on how well he fared during his first spring go-around in Norman.

“He’s got a chance to have an impact. Very fast. One of the fastest players on our side of the ball,” inside receivers coach Cale Gundy said. “He loves to compete. He loves to practice. He loves to play ball. He’s a good player. He’s an intelligent young man. There’s an opportunity for him to help us in the return game somewhere, especially in special teams.

Riley has gone to USC; it gets cold in Norman, OK;
he's homesick - for his dog & his girlfriend.

Plant City is only 140 miles from Gainesville via I-75

Let's see what your made off Bird !
Can you reel him in ?

TOS currently has Etienne at a 97% chance Gator right now
FWIW TOS has Citizen at a 100% for LSU right now

Saw/heard some clips in the last day or so attributed to Citizen; he said all the right things - in Recruit Speak - but my inner Gator brain said no way is he coming to G'ville.

This late in the game, 1 out of 2 is damn good !

Now if we could at least take a shot at Oklahoma 5* WR Mario Williams - from Plant City, FL - who is already in the portal, I would be happy.
