Secession - its time

Good grief you are awful at reading comprehension and depth of ideas, on top of having the worst character on the board. You are literally wrong on every thread you post in, obtuse in every thread you post in, and narcissistic in every thread you post in (your character explains that). YOUR own account, not one the Government controls, YOUR own account. It is obvious by now that you literally do not understand words meanings, but hey you’re a numbers guy. Find you a good math board to post on.

You contradicted yourself in your post. This is how I know you’re obtuse

“There was no way to provide individual investment accounts for every person in the US in 1935.”

“Funny thing is, that's actually how SS works now. Everyone has their own account, and everyone gets a payout based on the amount paid in.”

You are either intentionally obfuscating (this is what dims do, see SS as an example) or like I said, need to stick with math

You are honestly too dumb to realize how dumb you are.

There was no way to create PRIVATE investment accounts where everyone has the ability to choose their own investments. But surely you understand that everyone has a social security number, yes? THAT IS YOUR PERSONAL GOVERNMENT ACCOUNT NUMBER for the one-size-fits-all system we now have, that is what was possible in 1935. And there is no reason to change now, all that would do is create social insecurity, as you would be putting all the risk on the people to make the correct investing decisions, and so there would be winners and losers, and what would happen then? The losers would cry and the government would end up stepping in and funding the losers anyway so we didn't have a bunch of old people starving in the streets, and we would be in the same boat we are in now, with a lot of time and effort (and money) wasted.

Even knowing your limitations, I am evidently still blind to the depth and breadth of your lack of knowledge about how things work.

Oh FFS. Until you can comprehend what you read. Stick with numbers. I truly hope you are better with numbers than reading.

You are having a difficult time understanding your own personal savings account that you can’t touch and they can’t touch. I can touch it when I hit x age.

Versus a big fund that they control, invest and spend currently for everyone. I know thats difficult to read, maybe read it 3 or 4 times before you respond

If what you believe is true, that my money goes into my account and doesn’t get touched....well then, no need to adjust the age I get it, or worry about MY piece not being there due to “bankrupting” SS, right?

But keep obfuscating.

Character, again.

Bud, China already owns the US. Hell, even corn pop said “they’re not bad people folks”. Then he took money from China through his proxy son he pimped out to.

Meh, that's a bit hyperbolic but I do understand where you are coming from.

Retain the cap on benefits, uncap taxes. Or at least raise the cap on taxes. But I know, the simple and obvious answer will not be acceptable to Republicans.

That in effect cuts their benefit. Many are already struggling to get by. They were promised something and it's not being delivered.

Moving forward, unpromise SS, as it stands today, from a certain age group and down and fix it from there. Pulling the rug out from under 78 year olds won't work and it's cruel.

LG, the Feds have played with SS money many times over history...sometimes stealing the intrest over a fixed period of time to pay for another project. Money in a mattress shrinks over time and money not gaining intrest is essentially in a mattress.

There are other issues but overspending on other things and robbing SS to pay for it has absolutely played a role in its insolvency.

LOL I am only seeing your half of the convo...I will opine on your reply.

I would say anyone under 45 should be given a small payout and decoupled from SS. SS for those over 45 should come from the General Fund with cuts in social spending to help cover the costs.

Something to that effect could work. 45 might be a bit too old re: financial planning.

TBH, at age 19 I just assumed that SS would not be there and I've planned accordingly.

China has more land area than we do and 3 times the population. The only reason they haven't had a larger economy than us for a long time was their own policies, which, once they changed, enabled them to catch up quickly.

I do find it amusing that, despite the fact that Democratic Presidents have presided over excellent economies from Clinton forward, while both the Bushes left terrible economies for their successors, Republicans still somehow believe that they are the only ones who know how to run an economy.
CNN junkie huh? Try The Epoch Times and cleanse your brain of the liberal Kool Aid.

Are you going to buy all their homes? Find them new jobs? Help them get settled into a new place, when they liked the place they were in and didn't want to leave? Yeah, that's a refugee baby. Embrace the reality.

Also, if you think there hasn't been contention between the parties like there is today, then you know nothing about this nation's history. And no, I don't just mean the civil war.

"Oh, we don't get along, I think we should split up". Pansy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incidents_of_civil_unrest_in_the_United_States

Who are you quoting at the end? Quoting implies someone else said that. Or are we back at.....you need to stick to math?

Perhaps not. Trump left a successful blueprint for others to follow. Let's see who will step up.

It is a very ignorant and simplistic view of this nation to think that there are republican states and democrat states. All states, heck, all cities, have both parties in them, almost all of them within the 60-40 range in one direction or the other.

But hey, go ahead and try to secede. You'll look great in an orange jumpsuit. In Guantanamo.

@LizardGrad89 there were plenty of you snowflakes saying you wanted to secede in 2016. As I recall, we all wished you well and hoped you did.

Now that the tables are turned, you seem violently upset that half the country would want to leave YOU, and seem to be threatening that we stay.

I think I see what's happening here....dems are scared to death of the Trump states seceding because they got a taste of what life would look like with libs running everything over the summer with all the riots and death. They know now that they need Trump supporters to stay and be the buffer between them and their alt-left crazies.

Roughly 75% of the counties in this nation always vote red. The 25% that vote blue are mostly in the NE and on the West coast.

Split the NE down to say PA, which you split in two, into it's own country. We'll call it The Hoodwinked NE.

Then WA, OR and the top third of CA will be the Hippie Coast. The bottom third of CA can go to Mexico.

The rest of the 75% of the country can be called Trumpland. All libs can stay or leave, but if they leave Trumpland for either Hippie Coast or The Hoodwinked NE, they can't return to Trumpland for 10 years,

No backsies. Do that, and everyone will be happy. And by everyone, I mean everyone in Trumpland.

This is when this dolt started his new persona. Prior to this he disliked Trump and Biden...and called a guy 10 years older than himself a boomer (😂).

A smarter snowflake might have created a new account. That's not what we're dealing with here.

You keep saying “a snowflake would have...” which I agree with. The fact that I have done literally the opposite of what you say a snowflake would do apparently isn’t enough for you to realize something.

You seem very well versed on how a snowflake should act. One might say a lot of self knowledge on the topic

I've outed you. Sorry, not sorry.

Full effing shit. You can't have that both ways. Your ilk just loves to penalize success and reward the unproductive. Raise the cap on taxable income? You have to raise the cap on benefits. SMDH.

Unless you can prove a full lobotomization since the posts I've bumped, I have.
A damned shame we can't do that to BSC. It would be a marked improvement. 😂

It would turn the entire world of mathematics upside down. 0 + 0 would equal 1. 😂😂😂😂😂

I told you I had an epiphany. So once again all you have proved is people can change their minds. I am just glad it happened before it was too late.
For the record, I've never bashed you here (rolled my eyes frequently) but refrained. I just chalked it up to youthful testosterone, piss, and vinegar. If you truly had an epiphany, welcome to to good guys side.

We are two separate countries ideologically and the gap is widening. I say its time.

we fought and won this once... you might think about moving to another country if you're so butt-hurt lol

Do you honestly believe the people who want secession was only because they lost?

😂😂😂😂

The national government is way larger than it was ever intended to be. The 10th amendment is basically a dead letter. States that have exercised it have been overruled by SCOTUS. This is about more than this election. This is about collectivist of all flavors using the government to create a uniform code of socialist "morality" for a nation where half the country does not believe in their vision for the country.

The right is the party of tolerance. Oh but you want to ban gay marriage, prevent trans people from being accepted as normal, and yada yada yada. Why yes in our red states but we were willing to allow the blue states to have laws that are opposite of our beliefs. National laws and rulings seek conformity and have no tolerance for opposing views. This is the left.

Before secession a few things should be tried to put the government back into a box.

Term Limits
Balanced budget with 18% GDP revenue cap
Repeals of the 16th and 17th amendments
Fair Tax amendment.
Doing away with birthright citizenship.

Mechanism via amendment to allow majority of states to veto congress or overrule SCOTUS. Some propose super majority but I feel that to truly return the 10th amendment powers to the states that 26 should be sufficient and desirable in order to devolve power back to the states. In fact we want it used often and social issues should be solved at the state level. The first time red states band together on an issue and rebuff SCOTUS would probably be the last time SCOTUS would attempt to take up such cases.

Amendment to codify the filibuster except for nominations.
Amendment to lock in SCOTUS @ 9 Justices.

If all of this happened we might have a chance at "unity."

There would be calls from the left for secession because Cali could not stand it that TN bans gay marriage, doesnt recognize 53 flavors of gender or allow men in dresses into women's showers. And the left would also be upset that they cant have universal social programs or Utopia due to financial restraint of the BBA and red states vetoing it.
