Unbelievable but I think its not much of a dropoff to Perine who can actually block a little unlike Scarlett. Its not good having all this stuff coming down right before the game however.

Nope! UF ain't the only team on tv. Plenty of exciting matchups just on the first weekend alone.
The ever crucial year 3 is off to a nice start
We just have to hope we have no O line or LB injuries and we might survive this. The only game changer we will not have is Callaway probably which does allow their defense to be even more aggressive probably. Scarlett is a loss but Perine shouldn't be a big difference. If they stuff our running game big time it wouldn't have mattered if Scarlett was in there just like it didn't matter against FSU and Bama because it will mean the O line is getting handled.
At some point, you just can't say "it doesn't matter" with respect to lost players...we are definitely at that point.
It matters not much more than it did when Callaway was lost as long as there isn't injuries at LB or O line in this game.
Our two best offensive players out and people think it doesn't matter???

I have always thought Callaway was a big loss but I just don't see Scarlett changing the outcome of the game when Perine is not much of a dropoff and he can actually pass block a little unlike Scarlett.
most years it would matter and we would be f'd... but we actually have some talent in a lot of places now, excited to see Malik Davis this year regardless of when... now we get to see him sooner, that kid is gonna be awesome for us...
unless he gets suspended too, we still got more time so who knows...
Callaway is a big loss not sure the rest matter much for one game. The only thing that would concern me is indefinite part. Perine and Thompson will get nicked up .. all RBs do and UF would not be the same team at all if one was out for 1-2 games and UF had only a really tired perine or Thompson. UF does not want to play Tenn without these 10 players
Meh. Only two of the players suspended are starters. The rest are either true freshmen or backups who barely play. It would be great to have Scarlett and Callaway but they also play positions where if you have a decent OC other players can fill in fine since they depend on other positions to produce anyway (QB and oline). But that's the problem...our OC sucks.
Those 2 starters that are suspended won't change the outcome of the game.
They are from the two most loaded positions.
The freshmen at the critical lost positions will help to get the job done.

Spectrum Sports has learned that a Florida Gators player implicated running back Jordan Scarlett and wide receiver Rick Wells into an ongoing investigation of a misuse of school issued funds.
According to a source, the Gators player named both Scarlett and Wells to the University of Florida Police Department.
The source says that their involvement in the alleged misconduct is the reason both will be suspended for Saturday’s season opener against Michigan. Head coach Jim McElwain confirmed Wednesday the two players will not travel to Arlington, Texas, but did not specifically address the reason for their suspension. McElwain says he wasn’t made aware of Scarlett and Wells involvement until Wednesday afternoon.
The Gators will now be without 10 players for Saturday’s opener, but that number could rise. A source tells Spectrum Sports more players will be suspended in the future due to their involvement in the ongoing UFPD investigation.
