I don't own a gun and I'm doing just fun. In places like Chicago (right wing favorite city), Baltimore, Philadelphia the high crime rate areas issues isn't guns. It's education, funding, support systems, gangs, overall poverty. You seem disconnected with what we need to improve our conditions.
To show even more of your disconnect. Gangs fight with shootouts and kill innocent bystanders. Having a gun isn't going to save a kid sitting in living room or a child in a drive through when 2 gangbangers start shooting at each other. Like I had a friend get shot when I about 11. There are about 19k cities/towns in the US and ~300 are over 100k in population. So to make that list is a big deal. Paraphrasing here but your statement was states with high gun ownership like Florida and Texas don't have the crime rates like Illinois or Maryland. Well that's inaccurate. Florida has more cities on the list then Maryland and Illinois and Texas is higher than Illinois. Just saying that the facts don't support your statement. Them on a macro level, Alabama and Louisiana is in the top 10 in crime AND gun ownership.
