He’s the same player he was here and you know I’m not a fan of Mike White. What Nembhard has at Gonzaga is better players around him and a better offensive system with a better coach. But Nembhard still can’t defend the PG position nor beat opposing PGs off the dribble because he isn’t athletic enough and he can’t play the 2 because he can’t shoot. He made a good decision to leave UF and go to a better coached program but he isn’t any better of a player.

He still made a smart move going to Gonzaga. I like the kid and Mike White totally misused his talents. He was blamed for the slowdown offense we ran the last 2 years and it seems White advised him to leave Florida because he was giving the PG position to Tre Mann. Mann is probably the better NBA prospect, but is not a point guard. Nembhard did fine in the up tempo style at Gonzaga, leading the nation in assist to turnover ratio, while Florida suffered greatly from not having anybody who could dish the ball without turning it over. So we've had 2 White rejects, Nembhard and Brandon Francois (Texas Tech), who transferred out and then started for teams who played for the national championship. Makes you wonder about his ability to evaluate, develop and utilize talent, huh?

FWIW Brandon’s Francis only started 1 game his senior year at Texas Tech. He wasn’t a starter.

He made the right decision to leave to go play for a better coach that has a better offensive system but he’s certainly not some great player. His weaknesses are still the same and he still gets exposed. He hasn’t gotten more athletic, he hasn’t improved his defense and he can’t shoot the ball any better. He’s a G League or Euro player in the future.

You're right, Francis started 1 game at Texas Tech. But he was a major contributor for the national runners-up after Mike White basically rejected him. Solid ball player that White didn't properly utilize.
SENIOR SEASON (2018-19)
Francis completed his collegiate career by averaging 6.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in his senior season… Francis led the reserves in scoring after coming off the bench in 37 games with one start in the season… He matched a career-high in the national championship game by scoring 17 points against Virginia where he was 7-for-12 from the field, including hitting three 3-pointers… Francis averaged 7.8 points per game in the six NCAA Tournament games and helped the Red Raiders reach the championship final with nine points in the Final Four semifinal victory over Michigan State… He also had six points in the Elite Eight against Gonzaga and six points in the opening-round victory over Northern Kentucky… Francis finished the year fourth on the team with 44 3-pointers and with 53 assists on the season… He had eight double-digit scoring performances, highlighted by the championship final 17-point game that followed a 16-point effort in a win over West Virginia at home where he was 7-for-10 from the field with two 3-pointers… Francis had four games with three 3-pointers, including knocking down three in a 14-point performance at Baylor and three more in a home win over Kansas where he finished with nine points… Francis had a career-high six assists in the win over Memphis in Miami where he also added 10 points against the Tigers and contributed 12 points in his final home game against Texas… He completed his Texas Tech career having played in 75 games for the Red Raiders where he scored 434 points and made 77 3-pointers on teams that reached the Elite Eight in his junior season and then the national final in his senior season.

It would be cool if the word “Nembhard” became synonymous with something soft or threatening to masculinity, like erectile dysfunction...

Example...”Poor Bill, he was just diagnosed with ED and has a serious case of nembhard. That poor sumbitch needs a prescription for viagra or something.”

It WAS kind of interesting that Nembhard was like so clearly obviously the worst starter on the court on either team tonight...

he didn’t look any different to sadgator....scratch that...he looked worse...maybe he should have stayed with White after all...
I’m not sure it was his idea to leave.

Poor guy averaged 9.0 pts. on a 31-1 team. Hey I got one, Mrs. SadGator was so tired of Mr. SadGator’s performance in bed as he constantly went Nembhard in bed.

Amazing all these Basketball experts who think touching the Net on their best jump
makes them a Pro ball player. I used to go up to a school in Gainesville with my low air Ball and dunk. Once we were playing at a school and the Gator team came onto the court and they picked teams and I was the last guy picked and the only White guy. I set a pick on Vernon Maxwell and he wasn’t happy. He said “Don’t ever do that again.” His arms were like an 80” reach. Mad Max. One guy was like 5’8” and dunking. Drew Moten? I can’t remember.

“Hey Scottie, this is Andrew! Look, I’m thinking about pulling my annual stunt when I check my NBA draft status. If it works out, I was hoping we could maybe be roommates. Hey, there aren’t any real vampires in Transylvania, are there?”
Creative, funny stuff.

He was also 3rd on the team in minutes played and down the stretch and in the NCAA tournament was on the floor more than any of his teammates. He, also, led the team in assists and from what the commentators said he led the nation in assist to turnover ratio - 140-39. He was, also, tied for 3rd on the team in steals and shot 48% from the field, 75% from the free throw line. His job was not to score. It was handle and distribute the ball, which he did extremely well. Jason Suggs was the superstar guard on that team and he had 136 assists, but 88 turnovers. Suggs is way more athletic, but only scored 5 more points per game than Nembhard and fouls too much, leading the team. But he had 57 steals, 10 blocked shots and will probably have a solid NBA career, while Nembhard will not. I know people have gotten a kick out of dissing the kid, but he did what he thought was best for him and look what it got him - a conference title and national runner-up. Not too shabby.

And if Nembhard is so bad, why did Mark Few have him starting and playing so much when there were 7 other guards on the team besides him, Suggs and Ayayi? If he was the worst player on the court, what does that say about Gonzaga's bench or the decision-making of Mark Few? I think Few is one of the better coaches in the country and knows exactly what he's doing.

He seems like a really great guy. Some of his comments after the game were very philosophical and extremely classy...he simply couldn’t have been more gracious in defeat...hopefully those kids listened to his meaningful words; they are very lucky to have him...

He almost made sadgator feel bad about rooting against Gonzaga...

...and then sadgator remembered Nembhard and the overly-cocky mustache dude...and he smiled...

It was good to hear a coach acknowledge the other team and give them their due. Do you think he would like sunny central Florida as opposed to the rainy northwest?

He’ll never leave Gonzaga. Why would he? He has been the coach there since ‘99 and has been on the staff there since ‘89. sadgator was blown away when he looked it up and discovered that Gonzaga has never missed the NCAA tournament with him as head coach...other than the year that was cancelled...astonishing...

Dang, that is impressive. Still remember when they beat us in the tourney.

Few is a darn good coach that will IMO likely never win a natty at Gonzaga. If he really wanted to win a title he would have left awhile ago.
I agree. His competition in the west has really improved. This was their best shot.

Well, it's one of those things. Other teams in that conference now say "come here and you get to play against Gonzaga", which is bringing up the quality of play in the conference. Which may not sound like much, but is better than the old saying for WCC teams, which was "come play for us, we have scholarships available".

I was mostly referring to the improvement in the PAC-whatever.
