The USA Today article in the OP is a misdirection play to minimize what really happened leading up to the election. I suggest you read the actual text thread that Matt Taino (sp?) generated late last week…. Its eye opening.

So this begs the question. Do you actually believe this? Just because the MSM refuses to cover this...you think it will just go away? The FBI had the computer for THREE months before the election, yet went to EVERY social media outlet to tell them that there would be a "Russian disinformation drop" about Hunters laptop. THIS IS NOT GOING AWAY, son. Either learn the facts...or admit that you are just trying to make cover. Just like the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA BS..YOUR SIDE CHEATED, AND broke the law. I know you lefties are fine with that..it is who EVERY one of you are.
The question is, do you actually believe everything Fox and far right media tells you? That's the biggest issue in the US in regards to information. If the right tell you something and you believe it. The left says something and you automatically dismiss it.

Perfect example; you think Russia is hoax. The Republican led Senate said that Russia did interfere to help Trump win. The Mueller Report conclude the same BUT because the right and Trump called it a hoax or a lie, you just agreed. I bet you never read the reports yourself, you just took the right wing media analysis and made it facts. The Senate concluded no collusion but they also concluded Russia fed Trump campaign information to help him win with Russia officers. See below;

"It provided a bipartisan Senate imprimatur for an extraordinary set of facts: The Russian government disrupted an American election to help Mr. Trump become president, Russian intelligence services viewed members of the Trump campaign as easily manipulated, and some of Mr. Trump’s advisers were eager for the help from an American adversary."

"But the report showed extensive evidence of contacts between Trump campaign advisers and people tied to the Kremlin — including a longstanding associate of the onetime Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Konstantin V. Kilimnik, whom the report identified as a “Russian intelligence officer.”"

He said that BOTH campaigns reached out to Twitter to get things taken for violation of Twitter rules, which Twitter agreed. They never really discussed what Trump campaign asked to be removed, they just discussed what Biden campaign asked to be removed which was dick picks of Hunter.

Your OPINION means ZERO to me. Trump was cleared 100% AND the FBI lied on the FISA, and used evidence from the F'ing CLINTON campaign, son. Do you know this? It is NOT FNC...EVERYONE knows this. Do you? Tell me you are not this oblivious?? The RUSSIA hoax was a SET UP...by the FBI and Clinton campaign. The WORLD knows this. EVERY news outlet knows this...even though your commie channels refuse to report it. This is not a guess...it is FACTS. PLEASE tell me you are just trolling?

That article was. You guys are mixing things up. This particular instance was about a dick pic.

The suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story was not about suppressing pictures of his ding-a-ling.

I cannot be any clearer than this. You want to focus on one specific article? Fine...and unsurprising. However...

NOT AGAINST THE LAW. You wrote 3 paragraphs of NOTHING Russia WAS orchestrated by the Clinton campaign . It was MADE UP...and helped along by the FBI. End of story. A political campaign SPIED on the other campaign, using OUR FBI. THAT is the facts. The dossier was a LIE...and the FBI knew it BEFORE they obtained many FISA warrants. That is CRIMINAL.

Dude..... The overarching issue in this whole sorry saga is the authenticity of Hunter's laptop. The FBI was already aware of the existence of Hunter's laptop, and proactively "pre-debunked" its authenticity to Twitter and Facebook in the weekly meetings with those two social media companies.

The false narrative of "Russian disinformation" regarding Hunter's laptop was sown by the 50+ members of the National Security / Intelligence community that were virulently anti-Trump. Of course the authenticity of the laptop has since been verified.

Attempts by the New York Post to publicize the existence of the laptops were subsequently quashed by Twitter and Facebook - and not because of concerns about pornography. They, in concert with the FBI / DOJ / national security / intelligence communities didn't want the public to know about the contents of the laptop: Hunter's shady business dealing which included the "Big Guy", etc.

In Matt Taibbi's thread, Trump WH Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany simply tweeted about the NYP story and Hunter's laptop and got the ban hammer. Do you think this was because Twitter was so concerned about people seeing pics of Hunter's junk? Is that the explanation you're going to stick with?

Does anything in the laptop impact Joe Biden in a criminal way?

Like I said. You guys think it's a lie because Trump said so. Evidence says otherwise

WTH are you talking about? I haven't heard a word about ding-dong pic suppression from Trump. I'm sure he is laughing at this new narrative but I haven't heard it.

I don't want him to be POTUS. How many times must I say this before it sinks in for you? So go ahead and dismiss what I say because you're too stubborn to ever actually hear what someone else is saying.

It's ridiculous. But to answer your question, yes...kalim is willing to swallow any amount of BS for the right correct narrative.

Apparently that was the attempted spin from the left. @kalimgoodman is just parroting the talking points he is fed, as always.

Of course that narrative blew up yesterday when we learned that Twitter general council (and formerly same role for the FBI) James Baker was so worried about 'nothing burger' Twitter Files that he EDITED THE DOCUMENTS BEFORE MUSK GOT THEM.

What was he trying to hide? @kalimgoodman has no idea, cause his lefty sites are telling him this is all about someone wanting to see Hunter's wee wee.

Freaking sheep...trying to lecture us about parroting others? LOL

Do you even know if he has said anything? I honestly do not know.
Same stuff most of us are saying, it's outrageous, confirms what we suspected, etc. He did say something about we need a new election and extraordinary cheating calls for extraordinary solutions, and the media spun that he was saying that the Constitution should be thrown out the door.

Which led to this interesting tweet from Elon:

The left went all in on this tweet cause they saw it as a dig against Trump.

Elon was clarifying that the Constitution is more important than the OFFICE of President.

Sounds like foreshadowing to me.

"Pedo Peter" ? WTF are you talking about?

"10% for the big guy"? isn't from the laptop investigation
HTF did you think those emails got discovered?????

In an email to Hunter, Jim and other partners on May 13, 2017, Gilliar outlined an equity breakdown in which 10% of the lucrative CEFC joint venture would be held by Hunter “for the big guy.”

That email, which was previously revealed by The Post, was found on the laptop Hunter abandoned at a Delaware repair shop in April 2019.

Here let me help the mentally challenged since the DOJ investigation of Hunter Biden actually started under Obama's DOJ and for 2 years nothing has criminally implicated Joe Biden

So by using the navigator "must be innocent then and its a witch hunt" rule then this laptop investigation is completely a political hoax ... 😎

Hunter Biden Paid Tax Bill, but Broad Federal Investigation Continues
The Justice Department inquiry into the business dealings of the president’s son has remained active, with a grand jury seeking information about payments from around the world.

Get the popcorn- James Baker ex FBI general counsel and general counsel for Twitter got fired for vetting the release of the twitter emails..
IF Elon has access to what Baker tried to delete from the first batch of Twitter Files, then I suspect he will release it in the NEXT batch. I suspect that's what he's digging for right now.

If he does that, don't be shocked if Trump is arrested immediately. The media will need a distraction.

Some trivia for dullards.

John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the Wilmington repair shop, has said he received the 13-inch MacBook Pro on April 12, 2019, when Hunter Biden asked him to recover data from the computer because it had been damaged by liquid.

Both Green and Williams agreed on the authenticity of the emails that carried cryptographic signatures, though there was variation in which emails Green and Williams were able to verify using their forensic tools. The most reliable cryptographic signatures, they said, came from leading technology companies such as Google, which alone accounted for more than 16,000 of the verified emails.

Green and Williams said the only realistic way to fake Google’s DKIM signatures would be to hack the company’s own secure servers and steal private cryptographic keys — something they considered unlikely even for nation-state-level hackers using the most advanced techniques.

This has ZERO to do with the IRS investigation, and came later in 2020. Additionally the .GOV is hiding 150 SARS transactions from view. 😂

Some more trivia for malone... 🤣

WHAT THAT REPORT PURPORTEDLY AUTHENTICATING THE “HUNTER BIDEN” “LAPTOP” REALLY SAID

November 18, 2022/52 Comments/in 2016 Presidential Election, 2022 Mid-Term Election /by emptywheel

I’ve reported on the WaPo story on the security review of the disk drive commonly referred to as the “Hunter Biden” “laptop” a bunch of times.
But in advance of ripping apart this James Comer fan-fiction about Hunter Biden and before the Twitter thread I did disappears into the Elmo dumpster fire, I wanted to repeat it here. The WaPo asked security experts Matt Green (who worked with his Johns Hopkins students) and Jake Williams to review the drive to see what they could authenticate.

They discovered that people had kept adding content to the “laptop,” making it impossible to say what was on the “laptop” when it was provided to the blind computer repairman.

In their examinations, Green and Williams found evidence that people other than Hunter Biden had accessed the drive and written files to it, both before and after the initial stories in the New York Post and long after the laptop itself had been turned over to the FBI.
Maxey had alerted The Washington Post to this issue in advance, saying that others had accessed the data to examine its contents and make copies of files. But the lack of what experts call a “clean chain of custody” undermined Green’s and Williams’s ability to determine the authenticity of most of the drive’s contents.
“The drive is a mess,” Green said.
He compared the portable drive he received from The Post to a crime scene in which detectives arrive to find Big Mac wrappers carelessly left behind by police officers who were there before them, contaminating the evidence.
That assessment was echoed by Williams.
“From a forensics standpoint, it’s a disaster,” Williams said.

Still more important: some of the forensic data that would be necessary to authenticate the drive itself had been deleted.

Analysis was made significantly more difficult, both experts said, because the data had been handled repeatedly in a manner that deleted logs and other files that forensic experts use to establish a file’s authenticity.
“No evidence of tampering was discovered, but as noted throughout, several key pieces of evidence useful in discovering tampering were not available,” Williams’ reports concluded.

Williams was able to authenticate fewer than 10% of the files on the drive, though that included some emails involving CEFC China Energy.

The portable drive provided to The Post contains 286,000 individual user files, including documents, photos, videos and chat logs. Of those, Green and Williams concluded that nearly 22,000 emails among those files carried cryptographic signatures that could be verified using technology that would be difficult for even the most sophisticated hackers to fake.
[snip]
In particular, there are verified emails illuminating a deal Hunter Biden developed with a fast-growing Chinese energy conglomerate, CEFC China Energy, for which he was paid nearly $5 million, and other business relationships. Those business dealings are the subject of a separate Washington Post story published at the same time as this one on the forensic examinations of the drive.

The “Big Guy” email could not be authenticated.

Some other emails on the drive that have been the foundation for previous news reports could not be verified because the messages lacked verifiable cryptographic signatures. One such email was widely described as referring to Joe Biden as “the big guy” and suggesting the elder Biden would receive a cut of a business deal.

There were authenticated emails from Burisma, but if Burisma was hacked (as a security company, Area 1 Security, said it was before the laptop was disclosed), hackers could have faked cryptographic signatures, including on those from Burisma advisor Vadym Pozharskyi that have been the focus of a lot of attention.

The drive also includes some verified emails from Hunter Biden’s work with Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company for which he was a board member. President Donald Trump’s efforts to tie Joe Biden to the removal of a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma led to Trump’s first impeachment trial, which ended in acquittal in February 2020.
The Post’s review of these emails found that most were routine communications that provided little new insight into Hunter Biden’s work for the company.
[snip]
Both Green and Williams said the Burisma emails they verified cryptographically were likely to be authentic, but they cautioned that if the company was hacked, it would be possible to fake cryptographic signatures — something much less likely to happen with Google.

Note, as I understand the timing, these emails could have been altered only if the laptop reaccessed the Burisma server after the hack.

In any case, the “laptop” is a completely unreliable shitshow precisely because Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon were in such a rush to make it a political scandal.

And yet the new Republican majority in Congress is sure it is “real.

And on the issue of SARS...

Deutsche Bank Staff Saw Suspicious Activity in Trump and Kushner Accounts

By David Enrich

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Anti-money-laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank recommended in 2016 and 2017 that multiple transactions involving legal entities controlled by Donald J. Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, be reported to a federal financial-crimes watchdog.

The transactions, some of which involved Mr. Trump’s now-defunct foundation, set off alerts in a computer system designed to detect illicit activity, according to five current and former bank employees. Compliance staff members who then reviewed the transactions prepared so-called suspicious activity reports that they believed should be sent to a unit of the Treasury Department that polices financial crimes.
But executives at Deutsche Bank, which has lent billions of dollars to the Trump and Kushner companies, rejected their employees’ advice. The reports were never filed with the government.

The nature of the transactions was not clear. At least some of them involved money flowing back and forth with overseas entities or individuals, which bank employees considered suspicious.

Real estate developers like Mr. Trump and Mr. Kushner sometimes do large, all-cash deals, including with people outside the United States, any of which can prompt anti-money laundering reviews. The red flags raised by employees do not necessarily mean the transactions were improper. Banks sometimes opt not to file suspicious activity reports if they conclude their employees’ concerns are unwarranted.

But former Deutsche Bank employees said the decision not to report the Trump and Kushner transactions reflected the bank’s generally lax approach to money laundering laws. The employees — most of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to preserve their ability to work in the industry — said it was part of a pattern of the bank’s executives rejecting valid reports to protect relationships with lucrative clients.

“You present them with everything, and you give them a recommendation, and nothing happens,” said Tammy McFadden, a former Deutsche Bank anti-money laundering specialist who reviewed some of the transactions. “It’s the D.B. way. They are prone to discounting everything.”
