Stone Forsythe headed to NFL ?

OL probably losing 4 starters again !
IMO, young guys not ready to step up yet.
Gators Needs help in a hurry may have to look at transfers.

C J Thorpe Penn State - OG - 6-3 - 318 lbs
Class of 2017 - HS - 4* - .9584

Wanya Morris - OT - 6'6'' - 285 lbs - CLASS OF 2019
5* - .9871

Entering Transfer Portal for several reason - Pruitt may be fired & he Lost starting job at LT
Wanya Morris
"...Played in nine games and made seven starts - five at left tackle and two as a blocking tight end in UT's "jumbo" package"
https://www.si.com/college/tennesse...-tackle-wanya-morris-to-enter-transfer-portal

"...Jeremy Pruitt's future keeps twisting in the wind as the investigation continues into whether his Tennessee football program committed NCAA violations.

UT has hired expert lawyers Mike Glazier and Kyle Skillman to assist in the investigation, which is the latest blow for an embattled coach who has a 16-19 record through three seasons.

Although Pruitt remains the coach, until Tennessee puts forth a definitive sign that he'll remain the coach for the 2021 season, speculation will linger about potential replacements if Tennessee opts for a coaching change."

Current players will also enter Transfer Portal.

Stone Forsythe and Jean Delance were the biggest liabilities on the OL for as long as they've been in the lineup. Good riddance!

Huh? I think you have Forsythe confused with somebody else. He had a good year this year at LT.

My bad. When I posted that, I was thinking of the prior 2 seasons along with Delance. Forsythe has been a pleasant surprise in 2020.

The OL is going to be interesting.

we've got veteran guys that could decide to take the free year, which regardless of what you think about their talent, that experience and age/size will be important.

but, if they don't, we've got guys that are older. So it won't be freshmen, per se.

I was pretty worried about that until I started looking at it a few weeks ago. I think we'll be okay. Again though....if a couple of those guys stay I think it would be a huge help.

This week, former Florida offensive lineman Brett Heggie pivoted toward training for the NFL Draft. His Monday-through-Saturday regimen consists of four hours of daily conditioning in Orlando, mixed with football film study and grad school homework as he completes his master’s degree in sports management.

Stone Forsythe, OT, Florida
Height: 6-7. Weight: 329.
Projected 40 Time: 5.33.
Projected Round (2021): 3-5.

Stewart Reese to return ?

"...late in the season during a press conference, starting right guard Stewart Reese brought up the possibility that he could return for another season. And, though he could have moved on, I was told by someone close to him that Reese is currently in Gainesville and has decided to return for another season of Florida football."

Just talk until until Reese publicly says "I'm Back."

JMOHO of course, but losing OL after this season is a future positive, hidden in a past negative.

OL Jean Delance rsSr ? (iG - hopefully gone)
Stewart Reese rsSr ? (rumored likely back, for a backup/depth OG I hope)

Per his Mom - Patricia - Reese to Return to Gators
A Florida offensive lineman will be taking advantage of the NCAA’s “free year” due to COVID to play a sixth season of college football.

Starting right guard Stewart Reese is returning to UF for the 2021 season, his mother told G. Allan Taylor of The Athletic.

After four seasons at Mississippi State (2016-19), Reese reunited with his former head coach, Dan Mullen, and offensive line coach, John Hevesy, by transferring to Florida in May of 2020.

Looks like he will also finish his Masters !!!

Delance, in his second year as a starter, displayed minimal improvement - injuries ? and was benched at times for his play, only to return to the lineup eventually.

Reese didn't have the best season either, but that could be from a mix of -
dealing with injuries, learning a new environment and Delance's issues next to him.

GT's OL Review

Reese started out playing OT at Miss State then moved to OG.
Problem with edge rushers ?

With the COVID Vaccine becoming available, I'm believe that we will have a preseason & Spring Practice.
Question is can Savage get him in good enough shape to move back to OT or does he stay at OG.
