Ole Miss @ Florida

KY did a good job on defense against them. Most of the time when they pressured Dart they were in position to keep him from scrambling for a 1st down on them. Hopefully we can do that some also but we will probably be more reckless with that and he will burn us a lot with his legs.
KY was 2 months ago and they have gotten way better since that awful day. Almost 100 points scored in the last 2 games vs SEC teams. One was Georgia that the committee loves and the other was Arkansas that beat Tennessee and hung within 10 points of Texas. Get you popcorn ready cause this isnt the same team that played KY in September.

Yep but that game did show how to contain Ole Miss some. Of course our D line would have to win matchups with the Ole Miss linemen to do it also.

Neither team is the same as the teams that began the season. Well duh!
However, I like the Gator's chances vs the Lame Kitten's boyz.....

UF 48 - 20 UK
UK 20 - `17 Miss
Lame's offense scored 17 on UK while the Gator's offense scored 48 on them.

UF 27 - 16 LSU
LSU 29 - 26 Miss
Lame's defense gave up 29 points to LSU while the Gator defense held LSU to 16 points.

Ole Miss has dropped two games, one to Kentucky and the other to LSU. In looking at those games, you see a pattern forming. How did two teams that Florida beat, defeat Ole Miss? If the past is prologue, those two games possess similarities.

On Saturday, the Gators sacked LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier 6 times. (Going by the Gator's official site stats page, it was 6, not 7 sacks) Prior to the game against the Gators, Tigers had only allowed 13 sacks in 9 games. In turn, LSU and Kentucky dropped Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart a combined 10 times.

In the Gators vs LSU game, the Gator-D had 5 different players with a Sack, while 'on fire' ILB Shemar James had 2 Sacks, for 6 total in the game. (I thought Sapp had 2 sacks, but not according to the Gator's stat sheet?)

Against any SEC opponent, you'll usually need all three phases to compliment each other to get the win.
Who shows up and plays the best on Sat. will be the winners, as always.

So GooooooooooooooooooGATORS!

I hope our defense can keep it up with the sacks but that backup LG playing for LSU was literally a turnstile about like Waites was at RT in the Miami game. We definitely need to get after the Ole Miss QB like KY did while containing him so he doesn't run on us a lot.

Look at F$U and you will see the future of Florida

7-5 next year

8-4 the year after

2-10 after DJ leaves but Billy with an $1 trillion buyout

But hey, at least you got to see DJ get you to the Motor City Bowl

Paid off vs Georgia and you better hope it doesnt tomorrow
His tackle total is down versus same time last year if you look at equal number of games played, but his sack total is up by 3. To be candid not sure I would say he's developed that much versus last year. But he is on a better team for sure.

Looking at his highlights teams haven't attacked him with the run as much as they should have. On those 2nd and 3rd downs with like 6 and 7 yards to go they line him up wide a lot. Run right at him and he will break after a few times. Hopefully Barber etc know how to play his spin move since he was here last season.

I am scared that could happen and it's why 8-4 shouldn't be enough to keep his job with Lagway at QB next season.

Two impressive things I saw the first half:
1. We ran the ball and controlled the clock much better than I thought we could.
2. Lagway is a gamer. His vision and quick release are exceptional.
Our secondary is still a mess.
Maybe we can hang in there the 2nd half and pull off the upset.

The safeties always bite too soon and then never look back for the ball. One Ole Miss TD could have been a pick.

Well it is obvious which staff made halftime adjustments.

It wasn’t ours.

3 minutes in and two series of awful, worse than awful, play calling.
