This is intended from a money & politics angle, more than from a sporting angle.

Georgia football coach Kirby Smart expressed belief that college football is on track for problems as it relates to name, image and likeness. He raised significant concerns about the sport's national branding losing some of its luster among the masses as a result. At some point, Smart fears, fans could grow disinterested in college football due to the game losing its amateurism aspect and the growth of the sport could be stunted as a result.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban took it one step further, saying he fears there could be cheating involved if programs begin using NIL exclusively to entice recruits. (did he manage to keep a straight face when saying that???)
😂

NIL levels the recruiting field somewhat in the iG's opinion.
Or maybe it just alters who has be best un-level playing field advantage.
Now everyone can pay the recruits, and they can do so right out in the open.
It now becomes; who has the most money to spend buying your team with.

The schools are now in a different competition, recruiting their NIL sponsors to make those payments to their recruits/players.

The schools that have always bought recruits with GoB 'money under the table' are not really all that happy with the NIL, because it reduces their $UTT advantages. Now every school can make an open $$$ bid.

The schools with the richest alum/backers will now have the same advantages that the long time accomplished GoB $UTT cheater guys have had.

The best $UTT GoB cheaters are fast losing ground, while the $$$ richest but formally mostly honest guys, are quickly gaining ground.

The iG as a fan, is becoming less and less interested in any college (semi-pro) sports.....
While UF becoming an ANTIFA / BLM Socialist-U is another ugly spike in this fans coffin....

=====

Not to worry though, because I see this as maybe a very positive thing for America. Citizens that are less distracted by 'meaningless to society' sports, might actually regrow their interest in their civic responsibilities as Sovereign Citizens. (as unlikely as that is, I can still hope & dream)

Maybe FREEDOM can make a come-back over the mindless distraction entertainment....

If the time, energy, and money that is being wasted on sports was put to use in better governing our country, local-state-nation, then we wouldn't be in the chit-hole position that we are currently in. (Cheering Let's Go Brandon)

Rome's rich elite used the same public distractions with the Colosseum and the Gladiators, and it would be good to remember what that eventually did to the Roman's society... (remember or repeat, you make the call)
🤓 I really don't want anyone saving me a seat by the fire.... 😨

UT has some big money guys like Haslam, Ergen, Thornton and Anderson. All that would be dwarfed by Tex. If a NC can be outright bought it is Tex that has the money.

Having the $$$ is one thing.
Being willing to spend it on buying a college NC is another thing.

The Gator Nation Network has the money imo, but it's what they are willing to part with that's the as yet unanswered question. Also, NIL $$$ can come from anywhere, not just those involved with the school.
What happens if say a Soros type decides to get involved with the Socialist-U types....

Well your new guy tutored under Saban, so if Saban was cheating, so is your boy.

To be fair, Napier was a very good recruiter, that's how he was able to keep his job. It certainly wasn't for his coaching, that's why he got passed over for the OC position multiple times while he was at Bama.

WoW GhostofBRAINLESS, I wasn't aware that Satan was coaching ULL for ole Nappy....

And are you claiming that any coach that ever worked for Satan is for sure a devil also?
(I'm not saying that you're wrong, but show your proof)

LOL Everybody cheats but if there was a NC trophy for it then it would not be SMU leading the pack.

Our ex-boy Pruitt comes to mind. He was a "good recruiter" at Bama too!

To be fair, you're half right. Everyone came to Bama for the money.

Come to Bama, play 3 years, win 1-3 NC rings, leave for the NFL and a $20M contract.

That's the best recruiting tool Saban has. Haters gonna hate.

How many Gator's are currently making millions in the NFL? (I don't GaS personally)

5 Gators just played for a Super Bowl ring, and some Gators do virtually every year. (still don't GaS)

But if you want a Top 10 Rated Education to go with it, the Red Turds or the Rubber Dollies are not where you want to be....

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the 2023 class and what other teams decide to really start playing this game in addition to the top 5 rated classes this year.

Wait till it reaches a point where teams stop hiring coaches, and start hiring businessmen and investors as coaches so they can leverage their business contacts to get sweet NIL deals for top recruits that the school otherwise could never sign.

Deion signing that top CB was just the start. Wait till one of his business partners with zero coaching experience (but primo NIL potential) wants to get into coaching.

In 5 years you could easily see many top teams with 5-star recruits, and no one to coach them.

Love the idea of the QB drawing up plays on the ground with a stick

No telling what this will lead to eventually but I guess for this next class many of the highest ranked recruits will just say what NIL deal he is being offered if he attends A&M etc. and are you willing to beat that. If it basically just becomes a bidding process with a lot of them things could get pretty crazy.

I think it will eventually lead to colleges becoming less and less relevant and then eventually shut out completely of the process.

All of this is a byproduct of the NCAA being too ham-fisted with allowing student-athletes to get compensation. There was a middle ground that could have been reached years ago, but because of the NCAA, we just went from nothing legal to everything is legal overnight.

End result will be the death of the NCAA, then college athletics. All could have been avoided if it weren't for pride and egos in Indianapolis.

Yep.
When the big boys (Nike, Amazon, Facebook...) decide to run a 'support for HBCUs' campaign.
They could literally pay each player 100k per yr, put together a series of commercials (black and white slo mo narrated by whoever) showing every player from walking on campus to training in the weight room to standing on the sideline. Each company picks a university. Next thing you know 4 and 5 stars are shunning the SEC.

In general, there are a large number of options for how you can earn money. You can even try gambling. That's what I'm doing now. I like that I can also make money on it. I advise you to look at the website where you can find a casino that suits you and thereby earn a lot of money!

Maybe 1 in 100 make any money gambling as the bettor.
The ones taking the bets are where the money is made.
And it's collected by the truck loads from the dupes doing the betting.

Lost Wages, NV is the proof of that.
