I like this hire. Young and can recruit and played WR in the NFL.
I don’t dislike it, just hope this huge budget lands us a truly elite coach or two

He’s not an elite name yet but ive been hearing nothing but great things on Patrick Toney. He’s been a maniac so far on the trail.
This is one of the things I think Billy is doing well assuming my assumption is correct.
Make a energetic up and comer co-DC, bring in experience for the other co-DC and after a couple years it becomes Toney’s job.
I think you are correct. Also you can’t have too many Chiefs and not enough Indians as they say. Needs to be a good mix.

Yes. Raymond is a stud, and young guys often make great recruiters. Hoping for at least one experienced, stud on the O staff. And of course Tosh would be a great add.
If somehow we land Shemar it seems like Toney would definitely be doing very well on the trail.

He can recruit and he has a staff that can recruit and a support staff (Army)!that is going to assist in recruiting.

Colbert played at USC and has coached at the program for the last six seasons. He’s been the receivers coach at the school since 2019. In his time he helped coach five different NFL draft picks on the offensive side of the ball including receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster & Michael Pittman Jr. He developed Pittman Jr. into finishing top-20 nationally in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns while being a finalist for the Biletnikoff and Witten awards in 2019. In 2019 Colbert was ranked the fourth best recruiter in the Pac-12. Despite having a head coach that was constantly on the hot seat, Colbert was the No. 25 ranked recruiter on the 247Sports recruiter rankings for the 2021 recruiting cycle. Colbert was the Football Scoop WR coach of the year in 2020. Also recruited and developed USC WR Drake London.

Coach BillyG was getting old and burned out, so replacing him with this great new young coach/recruiter was a genius move.

Don’t count on it. But his best ever was the one about Mullen losing to ogre the day before he got fired.
The funny thing to me is that Dan, with only 3-4 stars, still managed a win over UGly.

I hope Smart doesn't break through this season but he has went 11-1 four of the past five seasons pre-SECCG so don't tell me that stars don't matter.
