UCF DT commit John Walker (6-3, 310, Kissimmee, FL. Osceola) & FSU OL commit Roderick Kearney (6-4, 300, Orange Park, FL. High) were both in BHG stadium for the game.

Walker possible OV to UF ?

Both of them respected the etiquette of recruit speak & had positive comments about the game & how Katie Turner managed their visits.

5-star EDGE Keon Keeley makes change to Florida visit plans

Five-star Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley EDGE Keon Keeley was set to make an official visit to Florida this weekend when the Gators host Kentucky.

But On3 has learned of a change in plans. That visit will be now be an unofficial, with Keeley still expected to stay both Saturday and Sunday in Gainesville, similar to what he would do for an official visit.

Ohio State hosted Keeley and his family over the weekend in Columbus for its top-five showdown with the Fighting Irish, and Alabama is expected to get an official visit on October 7.

The Gators will still look to get him on campus for an official visit later this season, with the Oct. 15 game against LSU in the Swamp as a possibility.

Florida has circled that as its big recruiting weekend of the season, also working to get Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Cormani McClain, among others, back on campus.
https://www.on3.com/college/florida...n-keeley-makes-change-to-florida-visit-plans/

Tampa is close enough to G'ville, that he maybe substituing an unofficial visit for his Gator OV & saving the OV for a school farther away.

Visitors for Kentucky
The Gators will host 2024 tight end and LSU Tigers commit Tayvion Galloway for an unofficial visit on Saturday when they take on the Kentucky Wildcats, the Chillicothe (Ohio) High product told All Gators' Conner Clarke on Tuesday.

Galloway (hopefully) will be joined in the recruits section of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium by 2024 Willis (Texas) High quarterback DJ Lagway (3rd visit; made FNL), elite 2023 Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep edge rusher Keon Keeley and priority 2023 Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton safety Bryce Thornton, among others.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT on September 10 in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Florida. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, streamed on the ESPN app and can be heard on the Gators IMG Sports Network.

4* IOL Roderick Kearney a Flip Candidate ?

The Gators expect to host Kearney for the second-straight week on Saturday when they take on the Kentucky Wildcats.

On Tuesday, On3’s Chad Simmons reported that Kearney’s pledge to the ‘Noles was “shaky,” and Corey Bender of Gators Online followed with a flip prediction in favor of UF. Georgia is the other team that kept in touch with Kearney enough to warrant consideration, and he could open his recruitment back up to the two SEC teams in the near future.

Again, all in The Swamp, flip prediction, visit listed etc....

Recruiting Visits for KY

https://www.si.com/college/florida/...ruiting-visitors-list-kentucky-dj-lagway-2022

Realize this is dated; but hoping the poor folks on the free board (like me) will enjoy it. LOL

Would also like to tell Jason & 1st and Ten Florida - THANK YOU for this free board - this is a tradition that almost no other site continues !

9 Gator commits -
including Marcus Stokes
- Marcus obviously bleeds Orange & Blue.
He has made numerous trips to G'ville to show his spirit & recruit other players !

Like SOS said; we want players who want to be GATORS.

Of note - I had to look up the distance between Gardendale (Ala.) & G'ville - 488 miles & about 7 hrs by car - each way.

DL Kelby Collins is making the trip for KY !

2023 Prospects

One of the advantages of Billy's Florida Centric recruiting strategy.

DE Keon Keeley, Berkley Prep (Tampa, Fla.) – No. 1 DE, No. 3 overall on SI99 -
Evidently, someone forgot to tell Billy, that when Bama decides to take a player, its all over & to just get out of Saban's way.

"...Florida was able to switch this visit from an OV to an unofficial, which means Florida will get Keeley on campus at least one more time before he makes his decision. Alabama likely has the lead right now but the Gators are making up ground. This is definitely a recruitment to watch."

OT Roderick Kearney (FSU commit), Orange Park (Fla.) – No. 9 OT, No. 96 overall on SI99

"...This will be Kearney's second visit to Gainesville in as many weeks which has caused many to think Florida has a good shot at flipping him. This is another one to watch closely for Gator fans."

The most interesting think I gleaned from this article is that Billy is working on both a 2024 QB - DJ Lagway, Willis (Tx.) – consensus top 50 prospect & a 2026 QB - Julian Lewis, Carrollton (Ga.).

Prior to Marcus Stokes; Billy put incredible effort into QB recruiting.

He at least got them to look at us & in some cases got visits.

Problem is that in addition to being the FNG among SEC Head Coaches - with no track record at the Power 5 level, the length of time Billy had to build relationships with these QBs was heavily against us.

Thank Goodness for Marcus Stokes going to Nease HS & wanting to be a GATOR !

Using Rashada as an example, Mario Cristobal started recruiting him while at Oregon two years ago.

Have no idea how good a QB Lewis is; but we are in position to compete for him.

I feel good about this KY game !

Hope for Walker & Kearney ?

For the second week in a row two top in-state targets who are committed elsewhere are scheduled to be in the Swamp on Saturday. Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star defensive tackle John Walker will see UCF (who he is committed to) on Friday and then travel to Gainesville on Saturday.

Then, Orange Park (Fla.) four-star offensive lineman Roderick Kearney – a Florida State commit – will be in town on Saturday as well.

In a bit more of a surprise, Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards three-star wide out Keyon Brown is committed to Oklahoma, but will check out Florida this weekend.

Defensive tackles coming to town

It’s no secret that the Gators need to add defensive tackles in the class in a bad way and two of their top remaining targets are expected on campus this weekend.

Either one or BOTH works for me !

UCF defensive tackle commit John Walker plans to be on campus for the third straight week on Saturday night. The Gators continue to work hard to flip Walker and defensive line coach Sean Spencer has made up some ground over the last few weeks.

Defensive tackle Jordan Hall is also expected on campus this weekend for the second straight weekend. Hall enjoyed his visit to Gainesville last weekend for the Kentucky game and he continues to build a stronger relationship with Spencer. Georgia is also strongly in the mix for Hall.

If we land Jordan Hall, he will be the first commit since Brandon Hicks and Bryan Jones to come from Westside(formerly NB Forrest) High. That school doesn't often produce highly recruited players, Hicks and Jones were pretty much the last highly recruited players to come from that very school, which is my alma mater.
It looks as if FSU is the favorite.

FSU is not the favorite for Jordan Hall. UF & UGA are the top 2 for him right now.

On Saturday, NT Watson will make his first-career start when Florida takes on No. 11 Tennessee in Knoxville. Napier said he’s earned his first-team spot on the Gators’ depth chart. The way Watson sees it, the start is just scraping the surface of his potential. And as he begins to realize that, he said; "he hasn’t forgotten the people who labeled him as a waste of a scholarship." 🤓

He will either decide he wants to go to a team that has a chance for a championship (Alabama) or go to a place where he can immediately start and make a big difference (UF or Miami).

Might come down to NIL but he seems like a kid that might be willing to get it once he is producing. If we don't land him that would be the reason imo.

Gators Land in Priority 2024 RB Target Jerrick Gibson's Top 12

Gainesville (Fla.) native and current IMG 2024 running back prospect Jerrick Gibson is down to the 12 schools he will consider moving forward in his recruitment.

Trimming an illustrious offer list that heavily picked up over the summer months, Gibson is widely billed as the best running back prospect in his cycle. He included Florida in the mix alongside an elite group of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and Tennessee.

Priority Gators DL target Kayden McDonald set to return to Gainesville Oct 14th for LSU ?

The end is in sight for Kayden McDonald.

The Rivals250 defensive tackle out of North Gwinnett High School released his top 10 earlier this summer. He has now trimmed his list even further, and he has his eyes set on an October commitment date.

Rivals caught up with McDonald to get his thoughts on the remaining contenders - Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas A&M, Ohio State, North Carolina State, and Florida.

Others who may also visit -

DT James Smith - 6-4 310
WDE Jaquavious Russaw - 6-3 228
SDE Tomarrion Parker - 6-4 256

QB Marcus Stokes UF Commit

Kayden McDonald set to announce on October 31.

While it probably won't be this weekend, it wouldn't be surprising to see him get to campus (Clemson) before he announces.

He has an official scheduled to Ohio State on October 24 and one scheduled to Clemson for the late November matchup against the rival Gamecocks, after his commitment date.

In other Clemson news -

Dabo Swinney addresses lawsuit against Clemson defensive backs

A lawsuit has been filed against Clemson defensive backs Fred Davis and Malcolm Greene following a 2021 accident that left a U.S. Postal Service Carrier seriously injured, according to The Journal.

Greene and Davis are accused of racing each other leading up to the crash.

The lawsuit states that the mail carrier fractured her skull, spine, pelvis, ribs and clavicle, according to the report. Davis’ vehicle struck the mail carrier and it was estimated that he was driving 115 MPH leading up to the crash.

Gators make Top 5 for Kayden McDonald

One of Florida's top targets along the defensive line, Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett nose tackle Kayden McDonald named the Gators among his top five schools on Monday night and revealed the date in which he will make his college decision.

The five schools making the cut for the Peach State standout are Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson and Florida. McDonald plans to announce his commitment on Halloween, Oct. 31, giving one of those five teams a treat to close out the month.

AllGators has also learned that McDonald plans to be in The Swamp for the Gators' matchup with Missouri this Saturday. That visit could go a long way in helping Florida's chances of securing his commitment at the end of the month.

https://www.si.com/college/florida/...ting-kayden-mcdonald-top-five-commitment-date

EDIT !!!
At the midpoint of his senior campaign, McDonald has accounted for 34 tackles (29 solo), 20 tackles for loss, seven sacks and two fumble recoveries. He has also recorded six rushing touchdowns and is averaging 5.1 yards per carry at nearly 320 pounds.

2024 5-star edge rusher is planning on visiting Florida for LSU game

Florida will host five-star legacy edge rusher Elijah Rushing on Oct. 15 for the LSU game, according to a report from 247Sports.

It will be his first trip to the Swamp since April, but the Rushing family has close ties with the Gators. George Rushing, Elijah’s father, played tight end for Florida during the early 90s, and Cruz Rushing is currently a walk-on safety with the team.

Another 5* 2024 WR plans visit to Florida for LSU game

Two of the top 2024 receivers hail from Chaminade-Madonna Preparatory School in Hollywood, Florida. Their names are Joshisa Trader and Jeremiah Smith.

Each has received a five-star designation on RIVALS and the On3 consensus and is ranked within the top five regardless of position.

First, getting him and Smith on campus at the same time could help amplify the impact of the visit. Wide receivers coach Keary Colbert has put together a strong class of pass catchers for 2023, but he’s looking to land the best of the best in 2024.

Two five-star linemen set to see Florida for LSU Game

When the five-star duo of Qua Russaw and James Smith return to Florida on an official visit next weekend it will be in part because of the impression Mike Peterson, Sean Spence, and Jamar Chaney made on them back during an unofficial visit in July.
