Gators to Hire Ron Roberts as LB Coach, Co-Defensive Coordinator ?

2023 Recruiting Class Rankings

Gators Up to #12 in Rivals

Recruiting class ranking, as I have mentioned, are not the end-all to be-all.

But no matter how good your coaching staff is, you need quality players.

Looking for continued success this weekend !

FWIW
TAMU #41; of course after last year's class they need to digest for a year. LOL

We appreciate the thread editing for updates. At least I do.

IMG Academy 4* DL Will Norman makes the call for the Florida Gators

Checking in

Name: Will Norman

Class: 2023

Position: Defensive Lineman

Height/Weight: 6-foot-4, 276 pounds

Location/School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Committed to: Florida Gators

Additional Finalists: Texas A&M, Penn State, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn.

Quotable: “What stood out to me was the consistency in their message,” Norman told On3. “With the staff being fresh, I can see where the growth comes into play and the vision they have in place.

“I’m closest with coach Napier, coach Spencer and also coach Chaney, as well as the whole D-line room. I look forward to being used similar to how they are currently using Gervon Dexter, showing versatility as an interior defensive lineman.”

Why do I think we are handling NIL better ?

Gators now #9 on Rivals team Ranking.

Billy's Florida strategy working !

EDIT
Will Norman's commit means 16 of UF's 19 commitments are from the Sunshine State.

Will Norman is also Florida’s second pledge from IMG Academy - alongside four-star offensive lineman Knijeah Harris (Bradenton, FL).

The Gators have never signed two prospects in one class from the nation’s premiere prep school.

EDIT
If Kelby Collins (my screw up; S/B Kamran James - thanks to ocalaman for catching it !) joins us; we will have one of the best DL classes in SEC !

I really believe we will, not may, flip several other recruits at key positions such as LB, DL, and OL.
Assuming we get Kamran James DL today - should be 1-2 more DL - another 1-2LB and then the OL needs work on the recrutiing trail - but if we get 3-4 more of those...freaking great class.

Cormani is also out there as well and adding a 5 star CB is always nice.

I started this thread on Jan 19. 2022 & every so often, when I change the headlines, I go back & look at earlier posts to see how far we have come.

When Kinsler decommitted & Rashada choose Miami, we were all disappointed; then we got Marcus Stokes.

The last QB we had from Nease High School wasn't too bad & I think Stokes will follow in Teabow's footsteps - different skill set - but damn good !

Right after that we hosted FNL & The Grille in the Ville & recruiting has taken off.

Kelby Collins & Will Norman made yesterday - Saturday - a Great Day to be a Florida Gator !

With Billy & this staff, I'm sure we will have many more days like this to look forward to !

2024 LB Myles Graham set to commit at 1 pm EST Sunday

Paco mentioned a 2024 LB commit yesterday; in all the excitement, I forgot to follow up on his comment.

Atlanta native Myles Graham announced Saturday night that he planned to commit at noon (CST) on Sunday. Graham has Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State, & Texas A&M in his final five schools.

https://auburnwire.usatoday.com/202...ass-myles-graham-bryan-harsin-sec-linebacker/

Though he doesn't consider being a legacy recruit as a major determining factor in his recruitment, Graham knows there are plenty benefits about Florida if he were to select the Orange and Blue on Sunday.

“Being a legacy, it doesn’t sway me one way or another. Florida’s going to have to earn my respect, just as anybody else did in the recruiting process,” Graham said.

“But being a legacy, if I were to commit to Florida, it would tremendously help me in many ways, in terms of NIL, just networking, meeting people, because they already know my dad. Having that last name of Graham, it’s a special name. It’s definitely nice having that.”

Two Florida Gators Targets Committing on Sunday

Could the Florida Gators double-dip on the recruiting trail for the second day in a row on Sunday?

Orlando (Fla.) Olympia 2023 defensive lineman Kamran James and Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy 2024 linebacker Myles Graham could join the commitment party by the end of the day, as the two are scheduled to make their college decisions known on Sunday and both are strongly considering the Gators.

James has yet to announce when he'll make his decision public and hasn't officially released a list of finalists ahead of his decision. Corey Bender of On3Sports originally reported this past Monday that James would make his commitment known on Sunday.

Graham, however, surprised the recruiting landscape by sharing on Saturday night that he'll be pledging at 1 P.M. ET on Sunday, less than 24 hours after his post. Graham will choose one of Florida, Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn and Texas A&M.

James would be another welcomed addition to the Gators' defensive line haul.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pound defensive end made a name for himself this year, posting 13 sacks and 21 tackles for loss during his 2021 campaign.

Although Graham's recruiting process is well over a year away from being finalized via signing day, he's a prospect worth being excited about should he commit to Florida.

Graham is the No. 4 linebacker in his class by the On3 Sports consensus rankings.

As of Aug. 14, the Gators have climbed into the national top 10 (247 - No. 10) in 2023 recruiting. The rankings boost comes after Florida landed a trio of Top247 defensive linemen in a two-day window: Kelby Collins, Will Norman and Kamran James.

The Florida Gators' significant recruiting momentum has pushed into the class of 2024, as elite Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy linebacker Myles Graham announced his pledge to UF on Sunday. He's the first 2024 recruit to team up with the Gators up until this point.

Alligators in B Flat? Gatorland's denizens roar in ecstasy

After this weekend, Gator Fans All over the State are Bellowing !

"... Once again, our intrepid musicians played through the boardwalk into the water. They played all the notes on the scale for two octaves and then played the notes once more. Nothing happened until they hit the B flat two octaves below middle C.

All over the lake, male alligators bellowed back.

John Banther hauled his tuba away from the railing nearest the lake and knelt on the boardwalk. He saw an alligator below in the dim shadows. He wondered if it would be safe to serenade him.

As amused tourists detoured around him, the young musician lay on his side and hit the B flat.

BLAAAA!

As I took Banther's photograph, I felt the boardwalk shake. Was Krakatoa about to erupt?

An instant later hell broke loose below us. The roars of the bull alligators were so loud and so deep we felt them in our chests."

With NIL my guess is there will be a lot of signing day flipping...
Question on that.

You can't sign your scholarship until ESD, but can you sign your NIL agreement earlier? If so, I would put in a hefty penalty clause if you flip and sign elsewhere.
