I ask this question of you as an Independent and as someone who has expressed opinions of so called right lean or left lean media in the past.

As you know, Reuters, a few days ago released a transcript of a Biden phone call to the Afghan president urging him to change the perception of events in Afghanistan, "whether true or not". This seems like a bombshell to me of a president urging another president to lie in order to let nothing interfere with an apparently locked in Aug 31 deadline. But I am biased. As an Independent, why do you think the three major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS and NBC would not cover it at all along with CNN and MSNBC. Now Chris Hayes of MSNBC mentioned it and dismissed as basically meaningless.
What is your opinion of the story itself and media coverage or actually media silence of it?

We can go one step further and point out that during the phone call there was a quid pro quo @kalimgoodman

Sounds good awfully familiar to some thing that got ridiculous amount of press coverage on all the mentioned networks about two years ago.

What are your thoughts on the clear discrepancy.

LOL. Like this is something that Trump and every other president hasn’t done. Yep, a big nothingburger.

Was it just PR, or was he asking for personal benefit like Trump was impeached for?

What was Biden quid pro quo?

I can’t imagine you would since most the major news networks are ignoring it. The double standard continues.
I didn't see anything about withholding funds, did he say it directly, implied, or assumption? I trust you more than most but I am back in football mode and excited for Feleipe ;), so i am not following politics as much.

That’s what I heard on the news but I’ll try and find a source for you. The essence of it was hide the truth or spit it if you want funding. But I’ll check and see, again I heard it in the passing in the news

I leave this place for even one day, and am reminded you need to be placed in a double braided straight jacket. Are you REALLY this retarded? WTF? 🤣
What personal benefit would Trump be afforded? Was he afraid of the other retarded, effed up, 15 socialist candidates running against him, versus a Depends wearing, corrupt, lifetime grifter with a crackhead son running his foreign cash cow?

Are you fukking serious or better question, when did you first start smoking crack? 🤣🤣🤣

It was air support. Biden promised air support if he “knew the plan”. He said that right after he said “we need to paint the picture….whether it’s true or not”.

He threatened to hang the already suffering ANA out to dry if the AFG President didn’t lie, just after he told us all how powerful and ready the ANA was to fight in the AFG “civil war”.

I know you love to troll but this one is a step too far. This one is clear - and this transcript was leaked, not handed over by the administration. It’s not good.

There is a fine line between foreign policy negotiation and quid pro quo. Foreign policy negotiation is always about you do this for the US to do that. You're making it seem like we just support countries without demands.

Trump issue was that he wanted Biden investigated to hurt his opponent. Other then that Trump was fine.

I don't see how asking someone for a plan before you support it is a bad thing. Seems like the US have been giving Afghanistan money for years with no plans and that's why the president walked away with over 100 mil that he was stealing.

That’s a quid pro quo by definition

Then every president has done it. That's why I said it's a fine line. The difference is the ask. Are you asking to help the US or to help yourself?
I fully understand that but lying to the American people is bad, for any elected official but here we are.

So I ask you this, what is worse? Obama weaponizing the intelligence agencies to circumvent US law and have other countries look into and lie about our former president or our former president asking a foreign leader to look into some very questionable business dealings in a foreign country while that person is a civilian?

Keep in mind, one of these is trying to overthrow a president while the other is questioning business dealings.

It WAS quid pro quo. Get new sources. He was doing it for burisma, where his son worked.

Idk enough about the Obama stuff to comment on it. I just know that Trump was thinking 2020 election with Biden. Too many people that was there have already confirmed it.

Can you list those people?
No point because you'll or someone will just say they are RINOS or out to get Trump. I'm not looking to dive deep into this. In regards to Biden, he's was more the US standard. I know the lying bothers you but we are always lied to about foreign policy and we should be lied to IMO. I don't think the American people should know everything. That's why we have classified documents.

What chaps my ass is US intelligence agencies attempting to undermine one President while covering the incompetent ass of another. Why aren't we hearing the brutal truth this time, they certainly didn't have a problem making up shit about Trump.

Oh brother. Here's a person COMPLETELY devoid of any rational thought. The world right now is burning and he's excited about football. I had a weekend where I couldn't watch football - family matters - and just in case I recorded the OU game. As it turns out I couldn't care less about that useless game when we have hostages in Afghanistan. The world is now a power keg and he's excited about football. Our priorities are way screwed up in America with the likes of folks like him and @BSC911 and @Mdfgator and others like them. When you put your head in the sand and begin a political comparison, like @BSC911 did you get the picture of human beings not understanding the world around them. They think it's a "game". This is why it's IMPOSSIBLE to reason with them.

He asked him to lie for political gain - in exchange for military support. We had intel on the ground. Both people on the phone had the same intel.

You’re spinning.

Based on what I can see on Twitter liberals are in total denial - if it’s not headline news on CNN/MSNBC it’s not happening. This thread doesn’t really conflict with that.

So that’s a no and that’s just fine but you’re making excuses for Biden.

Remember that lie about Russian bounties? The left crowed about impeachment then. Imagine if that story was true? Biden botched us leaving Afghanistan, left American citizens stranded and now our enemy has billions in assets and the media wants to know what kind of ice cream corn pop is having today? You see no double standard here?

If this was Trump, you’d be calling for the same thing the right is calling for, court marshal and a rope.
