Sort of, but doesn’t, since our refineries still needed imported oil. You jumped in to help Sunny and are wrong. We aren’t energy independent and never have been. That’s just a trite phrase.
Now you could say, for one year, we exported more oil than we imported. That would be correct. Then you could add demand was reduced because of Covid., thus creating a supply response, with drilling being reduced by over 75% to its lowest point in recent history. Then when there was a post Covid demand surge, it takes a while for supply to respond, which is now happening, with drilling more than doubling.
But no, you chose to just go with a misleading Trump catch phrase. And you wonder why I call you a Trumper.
And if it doesn’t impact gas prices, what’s your point?
