Gas prices aren’t based on consumer confidence, but current supply and demand. Biden’s threats against the industry, which he has since backed off from, would have impacted future gas prices, not current ones. If anything, Trump impacted it even more by getting OPEC to cut supply by 20%, which it still hasn’t recovered from.

You're right, gas prices aren't predicated on consumer prices. But the worth of a barrel of oil is.
OPEC didn't cut production til April 2020. At the time, the Keystone pipeline was going to more than cover this deficit. Plus, this was a calculated move to jumpstart the Texas oil industry. And it worked sorta, oil prices jumped 25% after they did that.
If you want to blame Trump for lacking the foresight to see that if he lost the election Keystone pipeline would almost assuredly be cut off, then you get partial credit.
Keystone wouldn’t have supplied the US market for several years. And no, even when completed, it pales in comparison to the OPEC cuts. As you know, the price of a barrel of oil, and therefore gasoline, isn’t based solely on US supply (or Canadian as in the case of Keystone).
I want full credit.

With all the ESG bullshit that’s been going on, encouraged by Biden even before he took office, oil and gas producers have become hesitant to spend billions of dollars on multi-year projects to bring additional supplies on line.
Biden’s recent pledge to consider curbing ozone emissions in the Permian Basin is the latest example of disincentivizing production. Then the dumbass wonders why gas prices are so high.

Yep, he’s proposed additional lease leases in the Gulf, which has angered many environmentalists. He’s also expanded drilling permits. Try to keep up.

Sort of, but doesn’t, since our refineries still needed imported oil. You jumped in to help Sunny and are wrong. We aren’t energy independent and never have been. That’s just a trite phrase.
Now you could say, for one year, we exported more oil than we imported. That would be correct. Then you could add demand was reduced because of Covid., thus creating a supply response, with drilling being reduced by over 75% to its lowest point in recent history. Then when there was a post Covid demand surge, it takes a while for supply to respond, which is now happening, with drilling more than doubling.
But no, you chose to just go with a misleading Trump catch phrase. And you wonder why I call you a Trumper.
And if it doesn’t impact gas prices, what’s your point?
