After seemingly dropping out of the running for Zachary Evans last month, the Florida Gators are gearing up to take a major step with the five-star running back in a few weeks.

GatorsTerritory can confirm that Evans will be taking an official visit to the Swamp next month. He is expected to be in town from March 20-22.

It has been a whirlwind recruitment for Evans, who has been rumored to be heading to multiple programs over the past few months.

The Houston (Tx.) product was expected to join forces with the Georgia Bulldogs during Early Signing Period, which obviously did not happen. Then, it appeared as if Ole Miss would wind up with him when National Signing Day arrived earlier this month.

If he follows through with this official visit to UF, then the Gators will seemingly be the program to beat for Evans’ services. With recently hired tight ends coach Tim Brewster leading the charge, Florida has put themselves in a solid position to land the top-ranked RB on Rivals.

There is no time frame for when he will make a decision, but it would definitely be ideal for Dan Mullen and company to get him enrolled and on campus by early May.

Stay tuned to GatorsTerritory.
