Congrats Biden

It was not an accident. I hope Israel doesn't go proactive... However, I would not blame them if they did. I would bet a number of Muslim nations would help.

With the current Leaders in Israel, nothing will happen. I beleive the currently ruling party just cancelled the Government and is calling for yet another election.

Iran now has the ability to produce nuclear weapons. This was Obama's vision, now come to fruition.

I can't understate how terrible this is...

Biden! 😂😂😂😂😂

Trump sanctions were nuclear weapons related? 🙄.
Yes. The administration accused them of significant violations of the 2015 agreement. Therefore, the Trump administration imposed severe sanctions on them, BECAUSE they were violating the agreement about the nuclear enrichment program. Trump or his handlers were smart enough to realize short of military action, there wasn't any way to stop them, since they were blatantly violating as it was. So they hit them another way. And of the course the UN wouldn't support us, because they are a bunch of impotent pussies beholden to the security council, which contains such stellar human rights champions as Russia and China.

Time to dissolve that worthless organization, or ship them to a country more to their liking. Like France.

You know he had no clue about this until you educated him. CNN does not cover stuff like this.

Yep. BTW - this is what research looks like.

1) Obama entered a terrible deal that had sunset clauses allowing a clear path to a nuclear Iran.
2) Trump obviously was against this, and pressured for renegotiation for almost two years. After getting nowhere he pulls the plug and hammers Iran with sanctions in an attempt to get them back to the table.
3) Biden re-enters the deal immediately and lifts sanctions...

Some key moments in the timeline:
Iran, through most of 2017, was playing nice. Other than a ballistic missile launch they were complying.

May 17, 2017:
The U.S. renews sanctions waivers as required by its JCPOA obligations, marking the first time the Trump administration has waived sanctions and taken a proactive step to implement the deal

Trump, weeks after Iran featured a new (banned) 2000km ballistic missile in a military parade he cracked the whip a little, opening up Congress' ability to reinstate sanctions if needed. Pretty clear indication he's concerned about nuclear delivery methods.

October 13, 2017:
Trump declares that, as part of a broader new strategy toward Iran, he will not certify under the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act (INARA) that the suspension of sanctions under the JCPOA is "appropriate and proportionate" to measures taken by Iran under the deal. Trump's decertification itself does not violate the JCPOA. However, decertification opens up a window of 60 days where Congress may re-introduce sanctions waived under the nuclear deal with Iran under an expedited process. In his address, Trump encourages Congress to enact legislation against the JCPOA's "sunset clauses" which set dates after which certain restrictions under the deal on Iran's nuclear program will no longer apply. Trump says if his concerns about the deal are not resolved he will terminate the agreement.

Trump also states that he will further sanction the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for its support for terrorism, but does not designate the group as a terrorist organization.

Immediately following the announcement, UK Prime Minister Theresa May, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron released a joint statement expressing their continued support for the JCPOA.

Shortly after, another violation by Iran....

December 15, 2017:
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres issues the biannual report on the implementation of Resolution 2231. The report notes that the nuclear deal is being implemented but finds that Iran has violated the arms embargo provisions of Resolution 2231. The report also notes that the secretariat is continuing to investigate allegations that ballistic missiles launched at Saudi Arabia from Yemen were transferred by Iran to the Houthis in violation of 2231. Iran denies the claims.

January 26, 2018: The UN panel of experts assessing implementation of sanctions on Yemen finds Iran in noncompliance with its obligations under the arms embargo established by Resolution 2216. The report notes that Iran did not take "necessary measures to prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale, or transfer” of short-range ballistic missiles and other equipment. Iran disputes the report and argues that the evidence is fabricated.

Trump finally gives up hope that the other member states are going to renegotiate the sunset clause or hold Iran accountable for clear violations of the JCPOA as it relates to ballistic missile development. He exits the deal and seeks to renegotiate one that will never allow Iran to have nukes, with Macron's support. Again - he's worried about Iran getting a nuclear warhead with a delivery range of 2000km. It's really, really clear.

May 8, 2018:
President Trump announces that he is withdrawing the United States from the JCPOA and signs a presidential memorandum to institute the "highest level" of economic sanctions on Iran. In a statement, Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin states that sanctions will be reimposed subject to certain 90 day and 180 day "wind-down periods." In an address following Trump's announcement Iranian President Rouhani announces that Iran will continue negotiations with the other states in the agreement in order to try to continue the deal without the United States. British Prime Minister May, German Chancellor Merkel and French President Macron re-state their continued commitment to the deal and pledge to work with all parties to make sure its terms are upheld. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini states that the EU is committed to the JCPOA as long as Iran continues to implement its nuclear related commitments, as it has so far.

Here the administration just comes out and says it....

May 21, 2018:
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo presents the Trump administration's new strategy on Iran after the U.S. violation of the JCPOA in a speech at the Heritage Foundation, promising to "apply unprecedented financial pressure on the Iranian regime" and work with allies to deter Iranian aggression. If the United States were to pursue a new deal, Pompeo lists 12 demands for Iran, including stopping enrichment, ending the proliferation of ballistic missiles and the development of nuclear-capable missile systems and allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency to have "unqualified access to all sites throughout the entire country." In exchange, the United States would be prepared to end "the principal components of every one of our sanctions against the regime," as well as re-establish full diplomatic and commercial relationships and allow Iran to have "advanced technology."

Once Biden is in power, Iran pretty much tells the world to go eff itself.

February 22, 2021:
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says Iran might enrich uranium up to 60 percent uranium-235. “Iran’s uranium enrichment level will not be limited to 20%,” he says, “we will increase it to whatever level the country needs.”

By May/June Iran is openly violating JCPOA and here we are, a few months later, with Iran on the precipice of having the ability to make a warhead and deliver it 2000km.

You’re a better man than I am by going through all that research. The older I have gotten, the less patience I have for ignorance (because most of the times it turns out to be willful).

I mean cot damnit, Socialism has destroyed country after country, yet you have large swaths of democrats advocating for it, and the rest of them don’t realize that’s where their party wants to take the country. What a bunch of buffoons.

And for the love of God, buffoons….quit calling America a Democracy. FFS

Liberal Israelis are worse than liberal American Jews, who gleefully seek their own destruction by supporting causes counter to their survival. It's truly mind-bottling ...

That's because @kalimgoodman only researches till he finds a website that tells him that Hiden didn't do this and that it's all Trump's fault.

But he's totally independent in his political thinking. Never forget that.

He will back his source, that told him what he wanted to hear. He will claim WE are the ones that can't accept the truth (his opinon source) and that we always let our 'pride' get in the way and that we hate @kalimgoodman and/or Hiden.

Dems can repeat the talking points, but they cannot defend them.

He lifted the sanctions and waved his finger at Iran for them to behave...all they wanted was the economic benefits of less sanctions.

You're arguing semantics. Biden paved the way for Iran to speed up their nuclear program. By stopping the only action, short of the untenable, that could possibly hurt Iran enough to slow them down or stop them Biden is culpable for the position the world is now in.

You are so extremely intellectually dishonest...

And that's why Trump sanctioned them!!!!

In addition to being intellectually dishonest, you're also a retard. You're a far less interesting version of @BSC911 .

I truly get that you guys are hard right and will have hard right views. I don't expect you guys to agree with overall views on most things. Dislike me or not but the article provide by your far right brother said that Iran started getting nuclear power under Trump. I get that he sanctioned them but the sanctions didn't stop them from getting nuclear power. He dishonestly went from Obama to Biden like Trump 4 years never happened. So once again fatman is wrong.

This thread was trying to blame Biden, when he should of been mad about Trump policies impacting Biden administration and this is based on fatman information.

Yet I fully expect you guys to ignore the facts and just focus on calling me names, switching topics, or whatever. Anything but admitting that what I said was true because that is forbidden, well unless your billcutt, goldmom, fresno or orangeclad. Despite our differneces, they have heart.

Trump wasn't either, the issue didn't resolve itself under his administration. But he had the balls to step up to them and make life really difficult if they were going to continue to violate JCPOA and 2231.

Biden lifted sanctions from a state sponsor of terror and gave them more resources - without any further requirements on their behavior - to enrich weapons-grade uranium. And you're defending him....while claiming Trump wasn't worried about weapons.

You're also gaslighting, I never claimed Trump was successful in dealing with Iran.

This is the last time I'm responding to any of your f*cking drivel.

Iran has been steadily gaining nuclear power since OBAMA.

I explained to you why the only thing that would have stopped Iran from nuclear proliferation was a direct attack on their facilities.

Who was vp under Obama?

And who set into motion the ability for Iran to eventually become a nuclear power?

That would be Obama.

It's kind of hard to stop something put forward by your predecessor, AS YOU JUST WHINED ABOUT.

Dolt.
