Probably a good place for him. Small school with no expectations or pressure and in his part of town.

The whole McElwain saga is still one of the biggest enigmas I have witnessed.
On paper, Butters had all the pluses a search committee could ever ask for:
*Three years of head coaching expedience, compiling a 22 & 16 record.
*Offensive coordinator/QB coach under Nick Saban for 4 years, ending up with
a 48 & 6 record, and garnering a reputation of being somewhat of a quarterback whisperer.
*NFL coaching experience, always a plus in recruiting.
*Solid family man, with no known skeletons in the closet.
*No huge buyout to overcome with present team.
On paper, the guy had it all. But even after winning the SECe in his first two years,
he never seemed a good fit. Never had the unwavering support of the fan base.
Never commanded his pressers the way Spurrier did, but rather came off as sort of a bumbler.
And the spectacle he put on at the SEC Media Days when questioned about the "Shark Rider"
spoof was embarrassing. I honestly thought the man was about to burst into tears!
My guess is that the bright lights in Gainesville were just too much for him to handle. A smaller stage
in the city of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan should suit him better.

"HAVEN'T A CLUE WHY THEY

Bright lights? Um, the yellow teeth?

McElwain won 2 SEC East titles and Muschamp actually went 11-2 one year. He also lost to a Division 2 team.

Mullen needs 2 more years as next year is gonna be tough with...

Georgia who will be ranked in the top 5.
L.S.U. who will be in the top 10.
Auburn who will be ranked.
Kentucky who will be top 15 most likely.
F.S.U. our biggest rival.
Miami to open things in Orlando.
Tennessee who is getting better.
Missouri who has kicked our butts lately but,
no Drew Lucke.
Vandy always plays us tough.
South Carolina another tough game..
And 2 cupcakes...

9-3 again? 10-2? 8-4?

It’s all about your QB. If Franks starts seeing the field better and throws more consistently you are a contender offensively. Your D loses some key pieces but talent is there and Grantham rarely fields defenses outside the top 15.

If Franks does not progress your best bet is Jones pulling ahead. He’s the type of QB Mullen needs to open up his offense. As per usual for UF it’s all about the QB. But you have a coach that isn’t a total offensive train wreck like the last two. Florida has plenty to be optimistic about.

I don't see next year as that tough. Tennessee, Vandy, So Car, two cupcakes: wins.
FSU who will still be dysfunctional and is at our house: win
Kentucky loses Snell and Allen. Win
Auburn who looks lost and is at our house: win
Miami who has nothing going on but is Miami: 80% chance win.
Missouri who we seem to struggle against but lost QB: 50% chance win
LSU and Georgia: Tough games, but our coaches are better. Winnable.

9-3 at the worst.

Sorry Sad but that isn't happening. We're going to take it to those fools.
No Miami won’t beat us next season either. They have some issues as well.
You will see. You will come back and call sadgator a soothsayer...

But it has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of player/personnel or coaching ability...

It is simply the most karmatic sports relationship out there. Miami owns us...plain and simple...makes no sense...but it is true...

They will absolutely beat us next season...it is a certainty...bet your kid’s college fun, your booze stash, your car, your house, your wife...

It is totally going to happen. Not one doubt in sadgator’s mind whatsoever...

Didn’t you say the same thing about the FSU game this year??

This isn’t the same Miami teams of the past either.

I actually believe the series record between the 2 schools is very close as well.

The scUM thugs of Mi-Am-I are going to be great....

And that's why 3 of their 2019 recruits have already flipped to Dan/UF.

If Miami looses their best coach in Manny Diaz then they are in a bit of trouble.
