I'm glad you asked...

In my grandparents and great-grandparents generation, they coined the phrase 'New York sneezed, America caught cold and Europe nearly died of influenza.' They've obviously shortened the phrase but it's still true...sort of.

Today I believe that if the US economy is strong then China's economy is almost certainly strong. And if those two economies are strong, almost everyone's will be. Why almost everyone? I think Europe is fvcked.

I'm 46 years old. Today's date is 10-12-19 and here is my prediction. In my lifetime there will be yet another global conflict that will begin in Europe. Why? The same reason as always, of course. It's made worse and more certain this time because bad behavior is rewarded while good behavior is punished on a scale that we Americans don't fully understand.

I enjoyed the fairytale Robin Hood. Who didn't? However, the "rich" people being robbed today in Europe are significantly poorer than you or I. How long can that continue? Most people are cool with helping to feed a neighbor's child so long as our own kids eat 3 times a day. But what if they don't?

Before, during and after the conflict that I'm predicting, politicians and historians will blame some Hitler-esque figure but they'll be wrong. They should blame the European economists, politicians and voters from today because they set the conditions that will kick it off.

If globalism means hitching ourselves to that wagon, no thanks. And they'll be thankful we didn't when we pull their asses out of the fire once again.

If Europe is ****ed, then it will be cause o one of two things.

1. . Move towards socialism
2. Move towards populist protectionism, like Brexit.

Both are equally bad.

I'm not into protectionism and frankly I don't anyone who is. I am all for fair trade...and again, I don't know anyone who isn't.

Really, because anyone that rails against globalism, complains about trade imbalances and approves of tariffs as a solution is a protectionist. You just don’t call it that.

Because I want fair trade? If you say so champ.

Again, and I'll say it slowly...I don't know how anyone would ever expect trade balance with China. But you said I do so I must.

Damn Indians always trying to sneak into our country. Where’s the Wall ?
