The Sean Spencer File:

Just a little more on Coach Spencer for those who have never heard of him prior to the Pete Thamel tweet...I just made some calls to some coaches - they all said Eric decided to stay in the NFL. Last week they all said he was coming..

Official Visit Weekend - SAT 6:05 PM UPDATE

Anything regarding this weekend you can post in this thread to make sure nothing is missed. Questions, comments, or concerns this is the place from now until Sunday when we start posting some interviews from the weekend.

Miguel Mitchell was set to land at 1:30 so he should be on campus very soon if not already.
Emarrion Winston lands at 3:47.
Caleb Douglass lands at 3:37.
Arlis Boardingham lands at 5.00.
Jamari Lyons 3:30.
Shemar James 8:02. Update—will not be able to make it this weekend

recruits are about to depart for Dave and Busters at 5:30. The recruits/families stayed at Dave & Busters from 5:30 to 6:50. Then they left for dinner at Spurrier's starting at 7:00PM which runs to around 9:00PM. After dinner is over recruits go out with hosts/families end up either staying there at the bar or heading to the hotel lobby for one on one time with the coaching staff.......Saturday starts off with the 8AM wake up call. Leave for breakfast at 8:45AM. They will eat at the University House for roughly an hour and at 9AM sharp the tour begins....They will have two different groups both starting off in the weight room...that takes about 40-minutes or so. In the morning I will add to this post and give you the details for the rest of the day.......

SATURDAY MORNING UPDATE 10AM

Last night I left off at the 10AM weight room tour. That will last roughly 35-40 minutes and they off to Nutrition for :50 minutes. They will spend another :50 minutes or so going through the training room and then around 12:15 off to the Hawkins Center. If you are out and about today around campus you will see the group/recruits on the campus tour from 12:50--1:25pm. Then it's off to the new facility tour which a lot of the kids are excited about. Lunch starts at 2PM at the IPF then after that free time until 5PM......I will have the evening update around 5PM.

NOTE----We are expecting real bad weather, 3-5 inches of snow/ice for Atlanta late tonight and throughout the day on Sunday that will shut this place down. They are predicting some major power issues -- hopefully that does not happen if it does you might not see me Sunday....

12:30 PM SATURDAY UPDATE - Donovan McMillon is hosting Miguel Mitchell and Chief Borders is hosting Arlis Boardingham. I am not quit ready to put both of these kids into our RedZone but close. They are both having a great great time so far. With Arlis I worry just bc Cali is such a long ways away but man UF is making a big time impression on him and MM right now...

Malik Bryant is in town.

SATURDAY 6:05 PM UPDATE
at 5PM they departed hotel to the facility. they are watching the GatorMade presentation and NIL presentation. that will only last abotu 30 minutes its pretty quick. 5:45 they watch the equipment presentation and the photo and video shoot which all the kids love.....they do that in the locker room......at 7:30PM they watch a highlight video in the stadium......that last about 15 minutes then dinner in the champions club.....then repeat of last night starting around 9pm kids go out with the hosts again and parents with the coaches/staff and they wake up have breakfast and all have exit meetings etc....I feel great about Miguel, Arlis, Caleb - I mean take your pick. UF feels strong with Winston also so we will see what the next few days brings.....

New Housing for Players?

From another site…was this common knowledge and I just missed it???

“The biggest recruiting news of the weekend has nothing to do with a visitor or even a prospect in this signing class.

The biggest recruiting news centers around part of the Sunday visit being dedicated to the visitors taking a tour of what is being called the Gator Standard.

Going forward, football players who live in campus housing will no longer have to live in the Keys or Springs 'on campus'. Rather, today they got to tour what will instead be the designated 'on campus' housing for football players, just 'off campus' at The Standard.

Instead of living in dorms that are over 30 years old, the football players will instead live in a building that is only five years old and has amenities that simply aren't available at those older residence halls.

Located at the corner of 13th and University, instead of living four players to a dorm like they currently do, there will only be two bedrooms that share a common area. The thought is that not only will it improve the experience of those younger players who are forced to live 'on campus' but it will also help get those players who didn't want to live in the older residence halls to stick closer to campus, and other teammates, by housing them in The Standard.”
