Spring Practice starts next week.

For the past two months, the Florida football team has been going through offseason workouts under associate head coach Mark Hocke, who is the team’s new director of strength and conditioning.

The second phase of Hocke’s program, which started Feb. 11, consists of 15 one-hour sessions in the indoor practice facility to prepare the players for spring ball.

“This thing is a sleeping giant in our opinion,” he said. “You’ve seen what this place can do when it’s done the right way. We’re really excited about the challenge that’s in front of us and attacking it one day at a time.”

Earlier today, I added four players onto our RedZone DE Derrick LeBlanc, OL Peyton Kirkland, WR Eugene Wilson, and RB Treyaun Webb.

I was really close to adding a few other guys, but for now, I will hold off on making all these additions at once.

I am going to highlight players on the Most Likely List that I believe are close to leaping to the RedZone. I will highlight those players in another color to stand out from the rest.

Make no mistake about it, though – we do have a long way to go from now until July, when a few will make a public announcement.

Players I am going to highlight today include LB Malik Bryant, DE Zavion Hardy, DE Isaiah Nixon, DT John Walker, DB Sharif Denson, and looking into the future (Not always doing this) with one 2024 player – I am going with another defensive end, Jonathan Echols from Franklin (GA) Heard County. Am I reaching a little? Possibly, because it is very, very early.

All this shows us is that things are going great right now in the recruiting cycle, but it must turn into signatures in the future.

Florida Gators announce tonight's starting pitcher

Huge news for the Florida Gators as redshirt-freshman RHP Tyler Nesbitt is officially back from Tommy John Surgery. He'll get the start tonight versus Jacksonville. Nesbitt missed all of last season recovering from TJ. The one season we saw him pitch was in 2020 in which he was named a Freshman All-American after pitching 11.2 innings and a perfect 0.00 ERA.
