If you accept that man is making the planet hotter with CO2, and I'm certainly unprepared to accept that as absolute fact, and your response is that we must DRAMATICALLY reduce CO2 emissions on Earth, the poorest people on Earth will pay the heaviest price for reducing said CO2.
They will starve, they will freeze, they will be without electricity and they will go without everyday necessities that more affluent people will not go without.
It's much easier for us to say that reducing CO2 is the moral thing to do...because we're likely to survive.
Of course many of these eco-friendly terrorists also plainly state that Earth is overpopulated so killing off lesser beings is a price they're willing to pay.

1.)Socialism/communism is how the lazy and untalented acquire wealth.
2.) for the useful idiot this is a religion.
3.) many of the leaders of these type groups are smart people who were told all their life how smart they were but that did not automatically translate into wealth post college by merely showing up. Then causes or politics were the avenue to success.
4.) envy and jealousy drive a lot of this. The smart but lazy person looks over at the dolt who has it better than them and says how can his be. These people need to be led as they are too stupid to have that much money. College is sold as the way to wealth without getting dirty. When they see a guy with dirty hands making more money than them they are enraged.
5.) Technocracy puts those people back in heir place and empowers the smart people to rule and become wealthy by just holding a bureaucratic position.
6.) environmentalism is green on the outside and commie red on the inside like a watermelon. Its a tool / religion used to get us to the technocratic socialist state.

At some level, hard to argue with any of this. You already saw that the green new deal did: drove massive inflation for working people.
overpopulation is an issue. Take Egypt for example. They say it just as you note.
The fascinating part on Covid-19 is that guess who it hurt, disproportionately? Poor and black and brown people? How did it start? Lab Leak - most likely. Funded by - EcoHealth alliance, in part.
Reasonable people can argue on whether it was a series of disconnected errors and the inevitable failure of top down governments (why I hate communism and socialism and am in many cases a Libertarian) or a globalist plot, but it is hard for any open minded centrist to argue the points you make.
