will ole miss make a run at Mike White?

Socialist-U could send that shitty Multi-Millionaire Mike White out the door on an 8.75 Million dollar buy-out vacation.

I wouldn't cry if they did that,,, and I'm betting that Mike wouldn't either,,, at this point....

The Gators have been a bubble team in 3 of White’s 7 years, ending on the wrong side of the bubble twice. Florida hasn’t truly competed for an SEC championship since his third season, when the Gators finished 3rd in the league and led the SEC and the country in Quad 1 wins.

That means the program with the 2nd-most SEC titles over the past 30 years hasn’t competed to win 1 in the past 4 seasons. Florida simply has too much tradition, too much administrative support and too good a natural recruiting base to not compete for SEC championships. Scott Stricklin doesn’t have a hoops background, but he can see the banners in Exactech Arena, as well as the increasing number of empty seats at home games. Apathy is a dangerous thing, and Florida must play better on the court in 2022-23.

There are whispers, however, that White may be looking to make a graceful exit. Shaka Smart did this at Texas last offseason, jumping on a less high-profile, but still high-quality job, at Marquette. White may find a similar move, to say, a respected Big East program like Butler, equally appealing. Should the job open at his alma mater Ole Miss, perhaps there would be mutual interest.

As for Florida, they may view a departure by White as an opportunity for both sides to gain a fresh start. Should White show interest elsewhere, it’s distinctly possible the Gators may be willing to let him walk away.

In any event, Florida basketball needs an identity, whether White continues or doesn’t.

Totally agree. When you look at the packed house for gymnastics meets and then compare that to the turnout for basketball games, the growing lack of interest is obvious. Gator fans, at least as far as I'm concerned, don't worry so much about a national title run in men's basketball as they do about being in the hunt for an SEC title year in and year out. Several SEC programs have surpassed Florida in the last 7 years and there is no excuse for that. Football, of course, runs the money engine that powers the athletic department. But with the resources available at THE University of Florida, there is no justifiable reason why any and all Gator sports can't be competitive in the SEC on a regular basis. I hope the "whispers" you mention turn out to be true.

Are any of you sending nasty emails to those with the power to hire and fire?

What’s your point? You are a surrogate sniveller and whiner on behalf of White…..

To be honest I have actually had some email exchanges with Stricklin about a year ago in regards to White.

AND????? 🤓
What do you want me to say? They were cordial & professional emails. I didn’t agree with the extension & he tried to justify his decision. Some of his justification was that White makes it to the NCAA tournament every year but we do expect championships here at UF and he felt White was the guy to do that. Here we are a year later and we are in the NIT and we aren’t going to win any championships with White.

Fascinating to me that insta hasn't gotten the hammer.
Honestly he’s really really close. He has been given another warning. Initially I had just been basically ignoring him and not paying any attention to him but now….Maybe I’m too lenient.

I'm very SORRY Mr. Paco, for making a mild jest in your direction. 😥

From now on, the iG will modify his posting HERE to reflect the requirements of those reading here.

I'll be 'Mr. Go Along to Get Along' and forget all about just giving my own honest responses in my own style of speaking.

While I can't really bring myself to post the kinds of things that those reading here always want to hear, I can modify my posting so that nobody will want to bother reading anything that I post, since those offended refuse to just put me on ignore and move on.

Just the bare bone facts.
Others can make anything of it, or nothing of it.....

UF 80 - 83 aTM in OT (+3)

AU 62 - 67 aTm (+5)

Ark 64 - 82 aTm (+18)

UT 65 - 50 aTm (-15)

John Calipiri - "Any SEC team that went 9-9 in the SEC this year, deserves to be in the NCAA Tourney."

Trivia - In HoF BillyD's last 7 seasons at UF, he only won the SEC-C one time,
and he ended his excellent UF coaching career on a losing season. (21/3 = 7)
Mike White 7/0 in SEC-C's and in losing seasons....

Coach Isso - "You have to be good enough to make it to the S-16, and then LUCKY enough to win a NC."

Who cares now...time for you to start posting Georgia stats....

Well, I'm not really that interested,,, but maybe over the next few season, I'll be posting both S-U and UGLy stats for a comparison...

Over Donovan's last seven seasons, the SEC averaged 3.7 bids, including just two in 2013 and three in 2014 when the Gators won back-to-back outright league titles for the first time.

Since White first guided the Gators to the NCAAs (in 2017, his 2nd season), the SEC has averaged 6.7 tournament bids.
Then throw in 2 years of scamdemic and constant injuries to key players, plus learning how to deal with a revolving door portal..

But White will leave with a record of 142-88, (.617) making him the 3rd-winningest coach in UF history
(Note: No. 2 on the list, Norm Sloan, was fired for violating NCAA rules).

White's 6 NCAA tournament wins rank 2nd on the all-time Florida list, (in just 6 seasons).
16-NIT Quarter Finalist - with no home games due to O'Dome renovations.
17-NCAA E-8
18-NCAA 32
19-NCAA 32
20-NCAA 32
21-NCAA - Projected In, but cancelled for scamdemic
NIT 3 Seed vs Iona, the MAAC-C (UF's 11th NIT)

Never missed a post season tourney, never a losing season....

We'll hear from Mike White soon enough. Eventually, he'll explain why leaving Florida was the best move for him and his family. White will give an answer, a well-thought-out one, that likely will touch on his time at UF running its course and the exciting opportunity for a fresh start. He won't, however, reference the toxic social media treatment the past several years at a class act, consummate family man, and one of the winningest coaches in program history. White will take the high road on that front. That's who he is.

It's a win-win.

White can take Georgia from last in the SEC to a solid, consistent 9th, and we can hire someone worthy of the Orange and Blue.

There can be no doubt about Mike White being a class act. Unfortunately for him he followed Billy Donovan. I know CBD had a losing season (barely) at the end. In the next 50 years we may get another coach Donovan but I doubt it. I hope things work out for both sides.

So Covid is a scam? If it's a scam, how can it be healed with horse urine, or whatever crap that is you've been touting? How do you have a sure fire cure for something that isn't real?

Without bothering to look/read, to whichever of the ignored is mouthing off, if it's directed at me, FU....

Looking for a new head coach?

And then there's Pinkins, who at 44 and with stints as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas Tech and UF over the last 19 years. If he beats Pitino tonight, does that make him a possible....
=====

Am I hearing an echo from the past? Along the way, interim DeVoe announced he would not seek the permanent post at UF, saying he was
"a no-nonsense coach in a nonsense program." 😂

Jeebus. Of COURSE you liked Captain Ahab. He came in with one goal, to destroy the Gator basketball program. And he did a heck of a job.

For all of us with the exception of you, Sad and Bradley, we're simply overjoyed by the fact your beloved Mike White saved UF over $8 million big 'uns by jumping ship to program that's been garbage after Tubby Smith bailed on them 25 years ago.
