Auburn @ UF

I have no idea how Saturday's game is going to play out and I don't think anyone else does either. But that's the fun of these board - to promote one's opinion while trashing another's. I just know it's a huge game for both teams and Florida needs to play their best game of the year to win. Gooo Gators!!

The OL, except for OC Buchanan are a bunch of incompetent short bus riders that are too lazy to learn or work hard to improve. Until that changes, no amount of good coaching is going to change things.... URGENCY!

"They try to put in the time." -- To coin a phrase, "Do - Or Do Not - There is no try."

Until and unless they get better, that's going to remain the OL's story and their legacy for 2019. It's simple to gain respect,,, all you need to do is to EARN it.... o_O

That's been the team's weakness for many years. It's a combination of recruiting, player development and commitment to getting better and jelling as a unit. Even when we've had a NFL-type players, the unit hasn't played consistently.

The OL is going to surprise us all this week....

==========

SDS on Mismatch TE/WR headaches: (hey little buddy)

Auburn's Seth Williams 6-4 224

Florida's Kyle Pitts 6-6 245 4.6/40 - 11.1 yds/rec

But it seems to me that they have left out something.

Florida's WR Trevon Gimees 6-5 214 4.47/40, 34" Vert - 15.4 yds/rec
-----

And where Auburn has WR Schwartz....
WR Anthony Schwartz 6-0 179 4.27/40 Soph -- injured out in 3rd game.
2019 - 5 for 110 yds, 22.0 yds/rec, 0 TD, L-48
Career Rushing - 31 for 293 yds, 9.5 ypc, 7 TD's
~ What makes Schwartz special is his raw straight line speed.
Schwartz is expected back for Auburn on Sat.

Florida has Sr WR's Cleveland - Hammond - Jefferson - Swain.

And it would be even worse if this guy wasn't injured out.
WR Kadarius Toney 5-11 194 4.69/40 Jr -- injured out n 3rd game.
2019 - 3 for 72 yds, 24.0 yds/rec, 1 TD, L-66
Career Rushing - 39 for 363 yds, 9.3 ypc, 1 TD
~ What makes Toney special is his elite burst in the short field and in traffic,'The Human Joystick'
Toney is not expected back for 2-3 more weeks, however UF is 7 deep with WR starters.

With Trask completing 77.3% of his throws....

PS -- And for good luck, E.Smith will be back on the sidelines on Saturday.

I attended the game in 1986, when Kerwin Bell, who was not supposed to play due to a knee injury, hobbled onto the field in the 4th quarter wearing a knee brace while we were down 17-0. He was not having any of that mess.

He promptly led us to 18 unanswered points, running in the final 2 point conversion himself, running over some sad sack Auburn linebacker in the process of securing the win.

Good times.
And in 2019 Kyle Trask hobbles onto the field and pulls out the W

Auburn isn’t going to score many points against UFs defense with Nix at QB. Nix can’t throw the ball. It’s going to be a low scoring game.
Mmmm interesting. Not sure Auburn would have even scored without UF gifting them some TOs.

Told ya Nix can’t throw the ball

We also don't really know how good Florida's defense is considering every team you have played so far is straight trash.

I read some comments from Miami's offensive coordinator after you played them and he flat out said their offense should have scored many more points against Florida

Miami's offensive coordinator did not seem impressed with Floridas defense. At least not from the comments I read
Was Malzahn impressed by UFs defense?

Did you watch the Oregon game? Do you really believe a game at the Swamp is going to be too big a moment for him? Do you remember 1994? You should be terrified of that kid...we all should be...
You were saying? Nix is terrible. Maybe he will be good down the road. Right now he is not.

5 bucks says the kid tosses a game winning TD with under 30 seconds left...(and sadgator is gonna be there to see it play out live)...it is almost certain that the situation will at least present itself....

It is very strange that you guys don’t understand how karma works in cfb...
He tossed the ball to the wrong team tonight. Have you seen this kid play at all? Or just the one throw he made in the Oregon game? He’s not a good passer.

You called that all week. Nix is nothing special. Not bad but nothing special.
Ive actually watched the kid play and didn’t determine how good he is because of 1 good throw against Oregon like Sad did.

Look stats typically don’t lie. The kid did not have good stats coming into the game. He had a terrible game today. Was not surprised.

Thanks OL, for coming through against the terrific, highly rated, Alburn D... ;)
You earned some RESPECT this week, so KUDO's to you guys. o_O
(now work your butts off to get getter)

Speaking of how nobody thinks Florida is any good, a computer formula cooked up by ESPN says Oregon still has a better chance of making the playoffs than Florida does even after their loss to Auburn
Bump

Nix is good enough to have two victories over top 25 teams

Florida has zero victories over top 25 victories

iu

Not if you're a rival board troll using preseason media-moron rankings in a weak attempt to boost your own schools SoS.... o_O

Instead, it's TYPICAL TROLL all the way...:cool::rolleyes:

Nix,,, snicks.... The Barn should be instead terrified about facing Trask & company.
=====

Speaking of Trask...
Trask will be pressured vs Auburn's D, so how do you get him more ready for that vs Towson?

By killing 2 birds with one stone. -- Play the OL backups and FNG's this week.

This builds OL experienced depth, while it might put Kyle under some pressure, depending on how well the (backups & FNG) OL does against the Towson D. This will also insure that the starting OL remains healthy for the AU game.

Gator's Elite Defense???

He’ll probably be a good QB when all is said and done, but his inexperience really showed up on Saturday. Our crowd rattled him...and that was fun to be a part of. It was cool that he threw that pick in the same end zone that his Daddy threw the ‘94 TD...

Auburn's 2 FG's came off Gator T-O's.

Dan took the hit for the TD that followed his 'fake punt' call, not a T-O.
