Another coverup by FSU?

This was a major coverup that was being done by FSU. It took Deandre Johnson to spill the beans on his way out the door otherwise we would have never heard about this. Not sure how this can be argued.

All the antics of the football team have crossed over to the fan base as well...notice how they always blame the victims.

Go Canes!

Fisher knows the victim's account, witness accounts, Cook's account, aware of (and likely viewed the photos of the victim's injuries), and formal charge(s) filed as a result of the investigation.

To anyone in the know...

So, in this case, what is Fisher waiting on before he makes an ultimate decision?

a Jury verdict? a plea? a video? the results of the coercion and threats that many FSU students and fans are going (or have already begun) to rain down on the victim and witnesses, in the hopes they decide cooperation with prosecution is not worth it?

Jimbo knows his whole season depends on Cook.

They lost a Heisman QB, a NFL ready TE and WR and four starting OL. Last year, even with all of those players, Cook had to bail out FSU in at least two games and maybe more.

Unless some of the back-ups can really step up, ala the way UGA's Chubb when Gurley was suspended, Cook not being in the line up can make a difference between a two loss season and a four or five loss season. Patrick or Vickers might be two candidates.

That is why at this point he is not permanently kicked off the team. Jimbo knows how important he is to the success of the team this year.

Time to dismiss the entire team, minus the long snapper and Aguayo. Every possession is an attempted, albeit quick, field goal.

problem solved.

Next season, FSU fields the first ever all gay men's football team...women free to roam the streets of Tally.

Haha and then FSU will have to change their flag colors and implement rainbow colors!!!!

There is no way FSU can keep him unless some serious mitigating, and reliable, evidence comes out. FSU does not want this attention. Jimbo can survive a 7 or 8 win season without Cook and Jameis. He won't survive scrutiny of the Cook arrest and the school's delay in taking action and a related investigation into the number of incidents between players and women on campus.

"Coach, you say you tell your players to respect women. In your opinion, did Jameis treat his rape accuser with respect? If not, why did you back him so publicly and absolutely? Do you think these mixed messages contribute to your players' propensity to punch women?" Are not the kind of questions Jimbo wants to be fielding from the New York Times.

9 arrests in 3 years, Liz. That's 3 per year.

Conversely, UF had 31 arrests from 2005 to 2010; that's 6.2 per year. 34% of the 2008 MNC team have been arrested at one point (either in college, afterwards or both).

Complete breakdown since 2010 (since most will want anything comparable to be post Meyer)

Football arrest records since 2010 are as follows:

TA&M 22
Dawgs 22
Bama 20
Gators 20
Tenn 19
FSU 17 (includes Cook & Johnson)
LSU 16
Auburn 13
USCe 9
Clumpson 6

When will we stop playing, "Our criminals aren't as bad as your criminals?" UF recruits the same darn players just as hard as FSU does. These kids are continuing to do stupid things despite having the world at their feet. It's sad...and had Cook not flipped, he'd be UF's problem right now.

I see you've pinpointed our darkest days. Kudos. Now try to prove that's our norm. If you can't you've done nothing more than proven my point.

I don't care about number of arrests, this was a clear attempt to cover up. And if he is dismissed it will be because of Johnson, not because Dumbo wants to dismiss him.
Its two completely different cases. One was cut and dry and on tape. The other has Cook identified at a later date in a lineup featuring nothing but football players. It has the 2nd witness not able to identify Cook. Has two extremely drunk women involved. Cooks statement is that it wasn't him and he has witnesses. If he did it he needs to go asap.

No, Cook's statement was no fight ever occurred. Her beat up face is evidence of otherwise.

Aren't most witness identifications made at a later date? This thread is far from the first place I've seen this brought up.....and in many cases with doubt about the accuracy and validity of the identification because it took so long thrown in.

Yes, most - if not all - identifications are made "at a later date" when the victim doesn't know the perp. This is like a "duh" fact.

Many nole fans are trying to pretend that this is a case where an accusation is made and then an arrest is made on the spot, simply based upon the accusation, and then charges are "pending" until officially files. But that's not remotely what occurred. An accusation was made; A 911 call was made; There's physical evidence of an assault; there were three witnesses; the police investigated; The State's Attorney's Office investigated; the witnesses and FSU football players were interviewed; the players have three different stories; the victim was deemed credible; after considering the evidence and the interviews - THEN CHARGES WERE BROUGHT.

But it looks like noles will simply ignore the facts and settle with "conspiracy" here. And if I was Dalvin Cook, a man with priors, I wouldn't be in favor of pleaing this out either. Interesting that FSU didn't offer Cook one of its go to attorneys this time.

The RRT needs to take out a help wanted ad to expand the team. You guys must be exhausted.

I will say that you all have done an admirable job at blindly defending your guys. And the only cost has been your reputations - talk about a deal! Dottie said you all deserve a bonus and a raise.
